Interesting. Since it's a field modification, I wonder if it's asymmetrical due to how the cannon above may be positioned inside the wing, or due to how the Ammo is fed or ejected??

I fear it is unknown.

In the above link, author guesses about ammo feeds ("I presume this is due to allowing for the ammo feeds of UB guns?").

In my personal experience, any "odd" layout is motivated by giving room to something; I guess Hurricane left wing was in some way different from right one, causing need for those asymmetries. Maybe some Hurricane connoisseur could answer properly.
