Short Sunderland Mk.II Version 2.0
« on: March 21, 2016, 12:42:43 PM »

Dear fellow Simpilots,

We're pleased to provide a Mirror for the Short Sunderland Mk.II at SAS.
The plane has originally been released at Freemodding:

Some of us joined the group of modders in order to help finish further parts of this plane and Barnesy gave his blessing to offer the plane for download at SAS.
Thanks for this and big thanks for bringing this nice bird into IL-2 to all modders involved, especially to Barnesy who had the biggest workload with all the 3D modding involved :)

To make life easier (you know I'm lazy) I take the liberty to just copy the original release post contents here:

Short Sunderland MKII 2.0 Final

UPDATE 2.0 17/3/2016

This is the Short Sunderland 2.0 Final for il2 4.09,4.10,4.11,4.12.2,4.13 from Barnesy12 & C WATSON @ FreeModding

After many many hours of work i am happy to add the Sunderland MKII to the list of mods produced for our members here at freemodding

as usual this add on is free for all in the community to download from here to use for their enjoyment
please strictly no re posting in any format with out permission !! if you cannot agree to abide by this please do not bother to download this work
just ask! permission is very rarely denied

the parts from the original model used in this conversion have been used with the original author's written permission
and if re posted in any format without permission is in flagrant disregard of the authors wishes and conditions as well as barnesy12 terms and conditions

BARNESY12 @Il2FrreeModding

The read me from the addon

This is the Short Sunderland MKII for il2 1946 412.2

This a conversion of the beautiful sunderland Hythe for FS2004 made by Jens B Kristensen
published on the flight sim.com site http://www.flightsim.com/vbfs/content.php
Jens has kindly given his permission to publish this conversion here at Freemodding
i have included Jens original read me in the files please read it
A HUGE THANKS TO JENS for permission to use this model for the conversion

the original model imported at 69 objects call that 69 meshes in total
the exported model runs out at around 500 objects including pilots collision boxes hooks clips adjusted meshes new parts etc
the entire model has been exported with MARAZ exporter using the null mesh method as used by the original maddox team for the appropriate parts
to those of you who use Maraz you will appreciate how many config files involved
the model has been remapped to accommodate the il2 format 1024x1024 skins there are also files for the use of the 2048X2048 skins supplied if using the HD skin mod
I recommend using the 2048x2048 files as they also give a much sharper definition to the alpha cut outs to the windows and damage etc i highly recommend using it if you don't already have it
the conversion has taken many weeks to do with a significant amount of effort to get where we are now if there are faults they are entirely my own and in no way associated with Jens work
i have tried to portray a Short Sunderland late mkII please forgive any historical differences as err "cough cough" artistic license on my part :P
