Dear all,

This is the Hurricane Mk.IIc "Malta Field Mod".
According to various sources, the few Mk.IIc Hurricanes during the battle of Malta had two of their four hispano cannons (and the bomb racks) removed to try and improve the fighter's performance.

*                                   Installation Instructions:                                                   *
******************************************************************************************************************

1.) Copying of files (depending on your game version):
1a.) CUP users                                : Extract the contents of this mod to the either "#DOF", "#TGA",
                                                "#WAW" or "#JTW" folder of your game as it pleases you.
1b.) Modact 3/4/5/6 users                     : Extract the contents of this mod to the "#SAS" folder of your game.
     (IL-2 4.10/4.11/4.12/4.14)
1c.) DBW users (IL-2 4.10)                    : Extract the contents of this mod to the "#DBW" folder of your game.
1d.) Ultrapack 3 users (IL-2 4.10)            : Extract the contents of this mod to the "#UP#" folder of your game.
1e.) HSFX 4/5/6/7, Modact 2/Ultrapack 2 users : Extract the contents of this mod to the "MODS" folder of your game.
     (IL-2 4.09/4.10/4.11/4.12)
                                               

ATTENTION:  You need some kind of "DiffFM" mod installed in your game.
            CUP, Modact 5/6, DBW and UP3 ship with DiffFM included by default,
            others need to make sure to have it installed, otherwise your game will crash at 60%.

ATTENTIONĀ²: You need "SAS Common Utils" mod installed in your game.
            CUP and Modact 6 ship with SAS Common Utils included by default,
            others need to make sure to have it installed, otherwise your game will crash when you fly this plane.
           
            Get the latest SAS Common Utils here, it works for any base game version and causes no conflicts
            with any other mod or mod pack, comes as a simple non-intrusive addon with no side effects:

2.) Open air.ini (in Modact 5/6 you find this file at "<Your Game Folder>\#SAS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\air.ini",
    for other game versions this may differ, e.g. "<Your Game Folder>\MODS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\air.ini").
    Add the following line:

HurriMkIIcMalta   air.HurricaneMkIIcMaltaFieldMod 1             gb01  SUMMER

3.) Scroll down for further optional .properties file modifications.

4.) For custom skins please use plane skin folder name
    PaintSchemes\Skins\HurriMkIIcMalta
    All existing Hurricane Mk.IIc skins fit to this mod

5.) If you want to use the Screenshot Propeller Textures, remove the Minus ("-") sign leading the folder name
    "-HurricaneMkIIc #Malta Fieldmod Screenshot Prop#" and make it read
    "HurricaneMkIIc #Malta Fieldmod Screenshot Prop#" instead.

This mod provides to you the SAS Hurricane Mk.IIc Malta Field Mod.

Additionally you get a new Cockpit with opening canopy, fully functional Mark II Reflector Gunsight and
high resolution textures from various sources.

- Flight Model for IL-2 4.09 + 4.10 added, the mod dynamically assigns flight models according to game version

Version 1.03:
- Dedicated Cockpit added with high res textures and fully functional Mark II Reflector Gunsight.
  Use your bombsight/gunsight keys (increase/decrease distance / side slip) to adjust distance and wingspan.
  By default the wingspan is set to "Bf 109" and distance is set according to gun convergency settings.
- Opening Canopy functionality added
- AI handling of opening canopy added
- Oxygen Mask added (appears above 3000m altitude)
- Gap between prop/spinner and cowling adjusted
- Optional Screenshot propeller textures added, loosely based on Stuka_40's Screenshot Propellor mod which formed
  the base for all other Screenshot Prop mods found in IL-2, see

Turns out that through several attempts to get the smoothing right, I have somehow lost the welding on LOD0, that's why the leading wing edge looks a bit odd.
Must be because I'm an absolute beginner when it comes to 3D.
A new version will be out soon, maybe (but unlikely) today, but for sure latest tomorrow where this will be fixed.
But it's really just the leading edge where this matters.

Wing leading edge welding bug fixed and Jero's prop and spinner added.

....about the 409....
