Monty27 , #WAW-Config-262TPF ............Where is this ? I have #WAW-OPTION-262TPF in jsgme folder . I have check your JSGME image and missing Fw 190 magnetos OFF in the list and #WAW_Config-B-24D-140-CO in your jsgme image.
Isn't it really bleedin' obvious? These are JSGME options. Config, as has been explained, is an option to configure a particular aircraft. This usually offers a choice of another mesh, adding wheelspats, or radar or such...
JSGMEMODS is a brilliant tool and an integral part of a good C.U.P. install (I disagree with all those who claim it doesn't do its job cleanly, it does). It enables you to copy across folders to the main directory or individual mod folders. We use it in C.U.P. to tune certain things, to quickly add or subtract a classfile or mesh or texture. Packages like PAL's MissionPRO and VisualMOD are usefully added or switched off in this way.
The name of each JSGMEMODS option folder determines its position in the left hand window. Therefore groups of similar items can be placed together.
If you can find #WAW-OPTION-262TPF just rename it to #WAW-Config-262TPF - then you have all such options in a nice group. I didn't think of everything in advance over a year ago, so a few of the option folders are named differently and option types have accumulated over twelve months. Its just a bit of tidying up.
#WAW_Config-B-24D-140-CO is in WAW Part-15C - You need to activate it to change the classfiles in order to fly the TD413 B-24D. This is because the new TD plane, like most TD stuff lately, breaks everything else. When you want to use or fly any of the other B-24s, de-activate it.
Fw 190 magnetos OFF - is an old option from Claymore's original set - This option has been present since - C.U.P.- Module 03 - World At War Pt04. If you have never seen it before maybe you shouldn't touch it. Or you could rename it like the others. Its just a folder rename - Makes it a bit tidier in JSGME.
This is really basic stuff guys: I didn't expect to get quizzed on F@#$@#in' pictures. My posts and instructions and credits and explanations are among the most thorough on this site or anywhere else on the web. The idea was to tidy up your JSGMEMODS and delete the duplicates. Look inside the folders and you can work out which ones are the same.
Look inside the two examples of JC Effects, for example, and you can see that the OLD one writes to #WAW/!SAS-EngineMod, while the NEW example writes to #WAW/Classes-!SAS-EngineMod. Clearly the new structure dictates that the OLD example is best deleted. Double check, yes, its otherwise the same size but the new Classes-!SAS-EngineMod is what we now call the destination folder.
Its just a bit of tidying up in the outside JSGMEMODS options folder. In order to mod Il2, even just a little bit, you really should be comfortable with re-naming a few folders and understanding what JSGME does.
At the very same time we have another group wading into the main mod folders with hammers and spanners and moving everything around when it really should not be messed with. - Talk about walking the wire...
