B-10 repaints II
« on: November 30, 2015, 11:31:54 PM »

Here's a few more repaints of the Martin bomber using ONT-R's very nice blank and default skins, much appreciated. Again thanks to GIO and the entire B-10 team for this classy bird!  RTAF white 11 is a W1 circa 1945 heavily weathered as per an available photo.  The Argentine Army Air Corp white B-509 is circa 1945.  The Argentine Air Force as well as the Navy flew W-139s for a decade until 1947.  The emblem is Bomb Group 1 depicting a campesino riding a bomb while swing bolos. The Turkish aircraft scheme is believed to be historically close :-X. While there are a couple of profiles about showing Turkish W139 WTs in two color upper camo schemes all the actual photos I could find show these aircraft in a single solid upper color with lower half either bare metal or aluminum dope. As for the top color, well I've seen it portrayed ranging from chromate to signal yellow to burnt umbra and written references placing it in the RAL 1023 to 1003 range. So the color is my best guess. ;)  Argentine and Turkish skins are for the W-2 version which has the correct cowling and nacelles   I've included generic versions for the Turkish and Argentine aircraft. Hope to enjoy them.

The Martin 139W were delivered to Turkey by Martin in a striking scheme of overall Dupont 83-2588 "Deluxe Orange" color (a yellow-orange paint similar to the one found on the Harvards/ Texans, close to the FS 13538 ) for the upper surfaces and aluminium silver paint for the lower surfaces, with black walking pathways on the wings (along the fuselage and around engine nacelles - look at the drawing below - BTW these black pathwayss were also present on the Dutch machines, and initially on the Argentinian machines till their repaint).

The Turkish B139W were soon repainted in an overall scheme of Dark Green-Brown paint on the upper surfaces and light blue undersurfaces.

There is no certitude about a possible camouflage at a latter date - it does not appear in the various photos of the Turkish machines, although mention is made of it in some reports. As most Turkish aircraft of the period had uniform schemes, this does not seem very probable.

Hi! There are other Thai skins for the B-10? White or cammo would be great.
