When you manually adjust a city, do you place rows of buildings so that they follow the texture(s) or the actual street layout?
It was possible at Poland map, where there were five cities so done,  taking 14 slots occupied by cities in load_ini file.
At Yugoslavia map, where  much higher number of cities is present,  it is not possible because of limited number of load_ini slots. Here only main landmarks in Yugoslavia cities, like fortresses, churches, mosques, universities, museums, railway stations,  bridges and so on, are placed at proper places.
The landmark buildings are only placeholders mainly, because the creation of the new objects needed is out of my skillness so far. Only three churches in Beograd and Old bridge in Mostar are completely new objects , made by Molva from Aviaskins.
By using actual street layout , there is another Scylla and Charybda: the highways and railways inside the towns might be either as actual layout (then they will not be good for Il-2 vehicles traffic), or will be ugly shaped using Il-2 game defaults (but usable with Il-2 vehicles).

Thank you Uzin, same here....
I am no good at all for new objects creation and the choice of textures is key.

I have four slots for villages, 6 for mid-size cities/suburbs and only one for city-city.
I have to think of strategy for Leningrad, I will try to have rows of buildings at the correct angles depending on the suburb they are in (like "Battle of Moscow" is done or the recent Smolensk by Cyberolas).

For the shape of roads, I made my choice: no zig-zag!
I just had a discussion about this with Snipperton regarding DCG/DGEN over there: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,51325.60.html

All the best for the rest of your map!

There are another two possibilities for correct angles of roads in cities, or strictly follow the actual road network in cities, not limited by the number of load_ini slots.
First, it is possible to use flat objects, like Canonuk for airfields, also to cities. This is limited to the flat areas, so it perhaps suits to Leningrad.
Second. you can draw the whole road net in the city using road plates objects by KevinP or similar to those I used in Lublin at Poland map.

As for buildings on roads, they may be easily removed (and also from water) by MapBuilder itself, by selecting "Clear roads" and "Clear water" choices.

I used objects from Piter, called "Naberej" 30, 50, amd 100 m long, which were made lighter in Gimp,by 50  per cent. The same applies for Piter bridges-"Small" bridge was used after making it lighter by 50  per cent, too.
