A small niggle
« on: August 16, 2015, 04:58:02 AM »

Just a small niggle with this mod: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=42519.0 which seems to be embedded in most maps with a grass airfield. After dark, the grass turns florescent, (ok, so who needs runway lights) and looks unrealistic.

Is there any way a small mod could be introduced into JSGME to disable the grass effect?

Thanks,

bergkamp

Sorry for coming back to this again. Any chance "grass" can be switched out through jsgme in a future update?

Thanks,

Vp, you magician!

All that was required was to extract the body.msh file. I created a mod folder in jsgme so I can switch in/out as needed. No more florescent grass at night!!

Thanks again,

Hello!
Ok, the solution seems quite simple. However, and sorry for my ignorance, I cannot find the path to 3do\Airfield\Ground\Runway\body.msh

Would you mind to explain it more in detail, please?

Once I find the file, I understand I just have to create a folder in jsgmemod called, for instance, #CUP_Airfield grass, and paste that body.msh file inside. Is it right?
When you say extract, do you mean simply to cut and paste, or do I need a specific tool to extract SFS files?

Thank you in advance and sorry again if I am asking something really stupid.

SpongeBob. If you get into trouble, I can walk you through it. Not on my game pc right now, so it may be tomorrow.

To get the folder structure, download the link in my first post and extract the file.

Well done VP and bergkamp. - Can you post the JSGME option please?  Do so and you officially become an SAS modder bergkamp - I will see to it!

Thanks Monty but your accolade may be a bit premature, as my modding skills have probably peaked with this one!
Now I have to learn how to upload a file on Medifire.

Ok, here's the link:

https://www.mediafire.com/download/zmdide3tdjt36wd/jsgmemods.rar

This will turn grass on/off to your taste (best off at night).

If you don't want grass in #DOF or #TGA, then just make two new folders in jsgme (#DOF_NoMoreGrass, whatever ) and follow the logic of the folder structure.

Enjoy.
