-SOLVED- Display problem at the beggining of a mission

Hi,
I experience often a display problem at the beginning of several missions: The screen displays a two part image with "grass" texture on the top half and blue (sky?) texture on the bottom. It is not a crash per se because I can quite the mission (and pass to the next if it is in a campaign). It happens both with 4.10.1m with Ultra pack 3 RC4 and Ultraspain 1 and 4.12.2 with SAS  Modact 5.3. It is probably trivial, but I can't see any similar report on the forum. I would like to attached the complete log giving a example of the error message I get when it occured, but the preview function of this forum tells me that I pass the maximum number of characters when I did. So I give here a short version (not sure I provide the interesting informations :-)

Blancador;
The green 'sky' and blue 'ground' has happened to me in the past and it generally indicated a mod conflict.  In my case it was an aircraft that I didn't have.

Check your aircraft in the mission.  It could be that one of the aircraft doesn't exist and given that you can't get to the cockpit so to speak when the mission starts it could be the player aircraft.
Before hitting 'fly' go into the arming screen and try changing your aircraft to something that you know exists in all games (i.e. a stock aircraft).  If the mission starts and you are in the cockpit then you have discovered the problem.  If the problem persists then go into the .mis file and check the aircraft there to see if there's any 'funny' ones.

I had the exact same issue you describe for the Battle of Britain campaign in TFM and the culprit turned out to be the Fairey Battle.  I changed all the Battles to Hurricanes and problem solved.  I've also had similar problems with different versions of the same aircraft (i.e. one version of a Hurricane is OK while another version of a Hurricane causes a crash).

That being said, this is just one suggestion.  I'm not sure if you get the same error if there are objects in your mission that are not found in the game, in which case you have some detective work ahead of you.

One final suggestion;  try the mission in Stock IL2 4.12.2 (assuming the mission is not created with mods in mind).

-SOLVED- thanks tomoose, you were right. In my case it was the Ro37bis, which was not the one I was flying in. Anyway it works now. The odds thing is I can flight this plane with the QMB. Any reason why it should work in one case and not in the other?

In fact, it was not the plane itself BUT the Payload (weapons 12x15Kg Inc Bombs) While it is weapons (12x15KgIncBombs) in my mod. This is why I have this difference between QMB and Mission Editor. I don't know where this difference come from, but it is good to know that it could happen.

thanks for reporting back.  Now that you mention it, it was indeed the loadout of the Hurricanes that caused my problem too (i.e. the Hurribomber could carry certain bombs but I didn't have the correct loadout version/description etc).
Glad you got it sorted out.  Hopefully this will help others who have experienced similar problems.  The more SOLVED we get in the forums the more we can help future players.
