you definitely need part 8 installed correctly before updating to 9 and 10.

Morning Guys

A stupid question, but do I need to add a (-) to the old WAW folder before i install Part Nine? or do I add the (-) before I install Part 10.

Thank you.

no stupid questions possible :) eventhough part 9 does not change anything directly in #waw, it comes with several optional JSGME files, that WILL modify the #waw folder, if you enabled them. so to be safe add the - before you start updating to 9-10.

Happiness, bliss, greatness and many other suppletives!   :D
Thank you Simon-Monty and gang, what a ripper!
I did the upgrade on Wednesday and pretty much all of the maps I could not load on my old rig now work perfectly.
Thank you, thank you , thank you!
Boy, this enhanced cannonUK/tbauchot Channel maps are looking good (before that I could only open the original cannonUK one).
Another thing is that the number of plane in air.ini does not matter anymore: I can have 2 or the whole complement, same outcome, a comfy 30 FPS average (it's an old rig...).
Happy flying to all!   :)

A comfy average 35 fps means that CUP is basically unplayable on my old rig. I experience progressive fps drops relative to the stock game. E.g. when replaying the Black Death track my average fps is only slightly lower (38 instead of 43), but occassionally drops to 2-4 for multiple seconds while it never drops below 17-20 in stock 4.12. Video settings are the same and air.ini is the same. So it seems that built-in CUP effects are progressively demanding on the hardware. Not a complaint, just a fact.  ;)

I installed the parts as per instructions and they even work for me.  Glory be.  It is a credit to the guys that do this for us, certainly not anything I do/did.  So thank you very much for your time and efforts.

« Reply #55 on: June 19, 2015, 10:41:49 AM »

There is a problem with Junkers W34 - something is missing probably.
When trying to use this plane in QMB,
there is a message:

Mission Cancelled, Error in FM!!!
There was a problem loading FM called:
'flightmodels/wwi_engin.emd'
It is not present in File:
'wwi_engin_em'

Greetings,

A part of log.txt:

Apparently Hurricanes and Spitfires lack of landing gear and flaps sounds.

Thanks!

All I can add is wow for WAW, Part9 and 10 works as advertised.  Thank you all on the CUP team and am looking forward to the great future of IL2 1946 and CUP.

Like some others I am trying some of the older campaigns to see if they work in CUP, so far no problems.

The campaigns are:
"Luftwaffe Pilot: Afrika!" by Flatspinman 4.09
Mustang Legends: "The Debden Eagles"  4.121
"Armhem and Antwerp"  by CorkerHam 4.122
"Typhoons over Normandy" by Poltava 4.122 CUP
BTW all of above campaigns are at M4T.

I have also downloaded some other campaigns from different platforms of IL-2 1946 such as DBW TFM, but have not tried them yet.

So far I am a very happy camper, er campaigner. ;D ;D
