Loaded Carrier Deck
« on: June 05, 2015, 05:27:23 AM »

In this section (CUP) and elsewhere on the SAS forums, I've seen screenshots depicting a loaded carrier deck. Is this a mod? I've searched but can't seem to find it. I also seem to recall there was a method for placing individual stationary planes on carrier decks (don't remember whether the planes were positioned on moving or stationary carriers). I cannot remember, however, how to do so.

Any insight would be appreciated.

There was indeed a mod (an SAS Buttons file was they key if I recall correctly). It will be a feature of the imminent WAW Part 09! It effectively allows you to put up to 15-20 planes on deck...depends on which ones though...a million F4F-4 Wildcats will fit but Avengers and non-folding Dauntlesses take up more space.

I don't know about the static planes though.

adding to what matt said:

if you want AI to be parked on a moving carrier (works with stationary versions too). you can set up normal AI planes. Set up their first waypoint as takeoff, then set target of first waypoint to the carrier, it will lock on with a green target marker.

to have them stay stationary you can set the delay of the first waypoint for the planes to wait as long as you want before starting engines.

setting fuel to 0 also works, but then the AI pilots will scream that they are shot down on mission start...
