how am i 'sposed to enjoy something i sure as *aircraft carrier lift* never asked for?
There's oh so many things to me this would apply to.
I've found a simple solution and it works since I'm 5, 6 or so:
There's something you don't like and you're not forced just to take it? Avoid it.

well THERE is a question...
i drop you into a game called life.
how do you avoid that.

nono, you are in life already. you are surrounded by it, in all 17 dimensions 3D, time, paralel universes and all.
how do you avoid that.
even if you nuke your brains, in a paralel universe, you still keep living.

my point is: once you are alive, you can not avoid it.
you get thrown in this mess and there is no way out.
life IS forced on you...

but now this thread is more interesting for all of us, rather than discuss other website's policies...

I like living so there's no need for me to avoid it, but if there was any... well... tbd.

in all 17 dimensions 3D, time, paralel universes and all.
how do you avoid that.
even if you nuke your brains, in a paralel universe, you still keep living.
If that's what puzzles you, then ask your doc for stronger pills.
These proved to be quite effective:

...with a lot of recent updates many of the issues some people had are withering away and it is shaping up to be a very playable sim

How so for single player content and game design?  I'm still seeing a very dull SP campaign and a few odd missions available for single players.  Am I missing something?

And don't get me wrong...I have been accused here of being "out to get BoS" which is not true, but I am very disappointed in the lack of continuity in the single player game.  If 1CGS would add: the ability to create pilot characters and track their career over the course of the Battle of Stalingrad, the use of real military ranks, the use of real military medals, and the ability to fly as a wingman or a flight leader it would greatly enhance the single player experience.  These are things Jason Williams has fought for but has been voted down on.  For some reason these are things Loft specifically doesn't want in BoS.  Somehow BoS would become something Loft doesn't want it to become if these things were added, things that could be added very easily and have been the backbone of combat flight sims since the beginning.

So I think BoS could become a very good game very easily if Jason Williams were allowed to set its creative direction.  All this other stuff 1CGS is working on is nice to have, but until they make this fundamental transformation I'm afraid BoS will be very dull for most single players.  There are some things 1CGS can't do with the RoF engine, such as filling the skies with large numbers of AI planes.  But they can tell a great story through role playing with pilot characters which would help single player immersion tremendously.  Why this is something Loft seems determined not to do (against the wishes of Jason Williams) I'll never understand.  QMB would still be there for the "quick game" players, but I think the vast majority of single player simmers enjoy something more involved.  We can tell from the Steam metrics that BoS has bombed with the casual gamers, so I'm hoping 1CGS will come back to the simmers and make the changes necessary to make BoS what it could be for single players.  I think for 1CGS to continue to pursue casual gamers with a subject matter (BoS) that is probably just not interesting to them will be futile.

Well this Fukitol sure seems interesting.
but as i said... the dude in the paralel universe does not "benefit" from what happens in this one with regards to these pills - so it's pointless.

the only way i would like to live on is with a positive answer to "will you make it into the next millennium to laugh at the downfall of humanity?".
if i could get a thousand years of invincibility/max health/no pain/no nothing...
i would love to laugh at this species going down.

and then, only then end my own existence... long after the last human has vanished.

I mean...
BoM.
and no... it's not even possible to have a dozen heinkels and half a dozen escorts fly to the city and drop some Dynamite on it.
facepalm material... right there.

and people are going to pay for such things, not aware that they will never get what they expect...

In short, I no longer care for the developers hm interesting ways of communications, nor the communities tendencies to take offense. I find BOS a good fast fun sim, like old il 2 .
Good old IL 2 was without anyones understanding a step too far in all its features for any sim to ever replace. neither cod or bos will ever be as good in long term use.

agreed.

my air.ini has some 300.000 entries, from radio gleiwiz to that signature on the US battleship.
They are not going to pull it off, not in aircraft, not in maps, not in ground objects. not in SP air activity, not in MP air activity.

not in this life time.

Still has way better graphics than 1946 though. Well I really hate to say better. More realistic I guess.

1946 with mods has become quite beautiful in its own way. The graphics are more primitive but still attractive.

Also I still play Diablo 1 and 2 because I prefer that style of graphics over more modern games in the same genre.

HMMM. I could not care less about BOS. But let me do you a favor Typhoon and let you know that guys like Storbor only put up with you because you remind them of themselves when they were your age, and I tend to agree. The only problem is that I was an insufferable asshole when I was your age and I wouldn't have ten minutes to waste on me now. I have the tiniest feeling that you may be similarly pushing your luck.

Just do yourself a favor and think for a minute or two before posting, then think for ten minutes more. Then go to bed and come back to it in the morning. I'm just saying.
