Hitler declared a state of war with the US at dec. 11 1941, so they could have recieved the planes before that date, or they could have taken war prizes from The Netherlands, Belgium or France as they did with other useful vehicles.

Some more info  :)
Luftwaffe and Deutsche Lufthansa operated DC-3s and DC-2s produced under license by Fokker in Netherlands. In 1934 Lufthansa bought one DC-2 (ex PH-AKF), which sold to Polish company LOT in 1937.
Deutsche Lufthansa get also 4 DC-2s and 4 DC-3s from Czechoslovak Aviation Company ČLS after occupation of Czechoslovakia, e.g., DC-2 s/n 1565 OK-AID, flew from May 1939 with Deutsche Lufthansa as D-AAID; from June 1940 to Luftwaffe as VG+FJ.

Another 6 DC-2s and 5 DC-3s get Luftwaffe after occupation of Netherlands in May 1940 (ex-KLM).
One DC-3 (ex-Belgian OO-AUH) Lufthansa bought from Italy in 1943.
