Dear SAS members & guests,

This is a Flak Burst Flash Light Effects mod based on the request of RooMan296 in the thread Flak Burst Dynamic Light for 4.12

                    Flak Burst Flash Light Effects Mod

                                 v0.01

***************************************************************************

Installation:
Extract this mod into the folder which holds the modded files in your game.
Usually this folder is named #SAS.

***************************************************************************

Usage:
This mod adds flak burst flash light effects to the flak grenade explosions
in IL-2 4.12.2m / SAS Modact 5.

***************************************************************************

Known Issues:
Since the mod touches the "Explosions" class, it's incompatible with any
other mod touching the same classfile.

***************************************************************************

Credits:

I don't give a sh*t for credits.

                !!! Compatible with IL-2 4.12.2m only !!!

Yikes..well..I've hit a bit of a snag. It's not working for me. I'm trying to find the conflict but thus far, no luck. I've set up a quick FMB with tons of flak using german 88's from both the Artillery and Stationary Objects columns. The gunners are filling the sky with flak but no light casts. I tried first turning off any effects packages but still nothing. I know it's one of those "doh!...should've seen that!' things but right now it's elusive. Any suggestions, gents?

Rooman it's an effect mod conflict for sure.
For testing you can just add enough "0000"'s in front of this mod folder's name until it comes first in alphabetical order in your "#SAS" folder (or add some other suitable characters, like "####").
When it's loaded before any other effects mod, it will override the conflicting mod.
In turn you will lose the special explosion effects of that mod in conflict then.
Btw. please make sure it's dark night on your mission since the special effects will only apply after sunset.

I'm sorry but there's no way out of this.
There's no such thing like "the standard" effects mod one could build up upon.

Thanks, I tested and it works fine.
I noticed two small problems, the flash of the 85mm flak bursts is very strange/broken, it lasts only a few miliseconds. The 20mm AAA lights up the clouds like a nuclear explosion, it burns them into 100% white color.

Yes, that may very well be true.
I'm not an effects guru and the mod itself is a result of a Java Lesson in our SAS School, the effect files I've created "quick&dirty" to work in the test mission, they might be completely wrong.
If any effects champ wants to tune this, be my guest. The effect files are part of this mod and can easily be edited with any text editor.
