Hello, I have been playing Il-2 for a few years and would like to create a plane to add to the game. I have GMAX and would like someone to give step by step tasks to create and add the plane. What is my first step?

How do i Install Sounds and Aircraft Mods megapack v1.0 or mods in general?
Do i need a mod loader like for Minecraft? If i mess up is there a quicker way of uninstalling the mod then reinstalling IL 2?
And how do i patch il2 to 4.08

Hello all,

I am brand new to this forum even though I have been registered for some time.  I have modded my il-2 to version 4.101m and have modact 3.06.  I tried to load iL-2 1956 Jet era.  I added all the aircraft ini lines and followed all the other steps.  However I cannot get the game to acivate.  I know that I am doing something wrong and was wondering if there is a all inclusive load for Jet Age that is simple to load to a clean version of Il-2?

My Il-2 version 4.101m works fine though, so I am ready to upload the Jet Era!  Note, when I check the folder I do not see a "Mod" foloder in the initial directory.  However, I do see a #SAS folder.

Any help would be appreciated.

Got it figured out!  I have iL-2 Jet Age working.  Now I am on to the version 1.2 upgrade!

Hey all, first time poster here. I only somewhat know my way around IL-2 (bought it in the last Steam Summer sales), and the only modding I've ever done is making a few skins, so I'm pretty new to the process.

Anyway, I have a simple question: As soon as I bought the game, I updated to 4.11.1, because I figured that it worked like any other game, you update to the freshest version ASAP. But Most addons here seem to require 4.10.1 (hell, some of them require 4.08 or .09, which sort of boggles my mind).  I've already made the mistake of installing the modact over my *4.11.1 copy (don't worry; everything's backed-up). So I'm wondering if there's a way to downgrade my copy to 4.10.1 (will the megapack work?) or if I'll have to completely reinstall and then update to that version?

Thanks in advance, I'm looking forward to the better flight models I've heard so much about, and I'll probably get DBW as well.

Hi!

One tip for the future: Have a clean backup of the original so you do not need a DVD install each time.
You can easily have as many modded copies of IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 as your HD allows you, no DVD needed to mod your game with one of the modpacks.
My tip-restart, but read here, my experience with 2 DVD installs on the same Operating System install was sort of badass, so for the future always have a backup clean install which you can switch and mod as base.

Hello,
first I must say that I'm not an expert at all! Apologize for that.
I have IL2-1946 Mod 10 that I use mostly to play with my grandson.
Recently I saw on a forum that it's now possible to use some Korea and Vietnam era planes within IL2 and I was suggested to download first "Dark Blue World 1.71"
Could someone be so kind to explain me how to download it and, after that, how to download the aeroplanes?
