Another object which benefits from this treatment  is the 3-bay airfield revetment in the Pacific objects folder. This object has wooden vertical posts which rise higher than the general top of the berms.
I just cannot find this.. (3-bay airfield revetment with wooden vertical posts ? ).  :-\

I didn't have my computer on when I posted, and didn't dare try to recreate the folder path from memory. ;)

Ok I'll have a look at it on the morrow. ( currently 12.25AM = exit ). Thanks.  ;)
update: What a windy night it was; scarry! Jetstream must be overhead! :o

I can see it turning into black...and top railed.                                           411.1 DBW1.71  Palau OL ( on line ).

It kind a looks cool at a distance: it shows shadow-contrast/trim ( sharp) and more height...

if changed ( no more black ).        Scene from 2007 "Battle for Rabaul" Palau OL by CzechTexan flightsims files Singles/7.  Very edited.

BP_Earth (3-bay ) when changed and at far distance ( looks softened, lower ).       If you want to change:

In HSFX-7 there are at least 3 more similar objects (#1231, 1232,1233). Any plans for these items?

I do not use HSFX7; these objects probably use a same mat file (clones). If you can recreate the PATH throught 3do and get/find the
object names for the final file, you can try the same mat-file (mod) put in each of them. (!)
[ update: in reality there are two types of mats; so some of them would have worked, some others would not ].

For instance in Post 13, WxTech gave me the path, and in final you see the object name ( = BP_Earth ), check it out...
Before that I didn't know what he was talking about. Note that the result is a test mod to verify WxTech idea.

Sorry for the late reply. I can find the object names through the FMB:

House$Alveole-triple
House$Alveole-triple_D
House$Alveole-triple_W

However, I cannot find the path. The BP_Earth object was in the 3do/Buildings/Pacific folder. I only know that from looking at your mod folder.

These 3 objects don't look like Pacific objects so they are probably in another folder. I don't have a 3do folder in HSFX7 so I don't know how to find the correct path.

Also, I'm confused about your instructions about how I could do the modding myself. If I use the same base.mat file as your mod, wouldn't all 4 objects end up looking like BP_Earth?

In the game there are *many* instances of different objects using the same file names. Because they reside in different folders there is no conflict. But you need to know the folder in which an object resides. In this case, because the objects all appear to be like the original save the texturing, chances are the same file names will be used, for convenience. If so, one and the same mat file would be useable for all, placed in each object's folder.

Thanks for the reply. So now I just need to find the folders, right?

Yep. Are they in an SFS archive, and if so, do you have its file list so that you can extract stuff?

I'm not a modder so I really have no clue. I'm using HSFX 7.

Well, I'm a Luddite who's stuck back in the Stone Age with my 4.08. ;)

Hopefully a modder whose game is more up to date can look into this.
