could we get carrier variants from early soviet jets? and mig-15 perhaps?

Inspired by the talents and efforts of the Il2 community, I have started work on Project 85: Soviet Carrier Attack Group of the late 1950's for 4.12/4.10 and JetWar 1.3 (which will include a couple of MiG-15 single and two seat variants).

Any of the Meteor variants with tail hook and folding wings would be very a valuable mod for this era as well.

Late Seafires, Wyvern would outfit any late RN Carrier nicely, the Meteor would be the icing on the cake.

Cheers

Mace, one question:
how did you solve the simulation of a carrier catapult and the 'traps'
on a airfield?  :)

Ground arrestig cable are a must for fast Jet era planes!!

And for some good old carrier landing training too!!

Hope to see them in game in the future!

Good luck with your exams!

Stuck on books for now!

Hi, was flying these of light carriers, great fun, only the Su couldn't make it of the short runway. The big Sturmo no dammed problem, a full load down a short deck, still no problem, the "Flying tank" soared of the end like a biplane. Love the pic of the Mig. But would really like the Mosca with a hook, and an Navalised RV or similar for interwar stuff. Well done, the Russians take to the seas.

I have a problem with the U2T. It appears, no 60% CTD, but when I try to load a mission with it, It goes to 100%, and then freezes. all the others work just fine. Is this just me, or have more had this problem.

I have the same problem. After loading, if I wait a few minutes the missions starts but the plane crashes right away.

Yeah, that happened for me once. I guess it is not a huge problem, since the stock U2VS can make a deck landing fairly well, but it is a tad irritating.

Hi ! Same problem with U-2T ; as this is an old thread I assume it won't be solved, but as the plane is listed in B.A.T it could be useful to know what kind of problem it is. I have the same problem in my 4.12 CUP install (can't install BAT for now, long story). The game does'nt crash, the mission just won't begin after 100% load and here is the relevant part of the log, I guess (it's a very big logfile, with many references to cockpitU2VSjava):
