@max_thehitman

The mouse wheel changes the display distance.

The distance slider is for testing the LOD on the mesh.

 No wonder I was not seeing it properly, I was reversing my mouse wheel and zooming away from the model. LOL
 That thing looked like an ant!  :D
Thank you for the quick tip.

I would like to cast my vote for the coolest and most useful skin-artist tool of the YEAR! ... STAINLESS is the Winner!

You can select a mesh node (one that starts with Mesh_) and right click on it.

Then select "dump as text"

This saves a text mode msh file anywhere you want. It doesn't copy any texture though so that would be up to you.

Seems to work.

Click on Mesh -  New him  to create an empty mod

Then right click on the root node and select "Add mesh node"

New version uploaded

Hi Stainless, more then 4600 views already! And that is just the beginning after a good 3 weeks. This really is going to be the modders AND skinners favorite tool.

A few little things:
now that we can select branches, a reset button to start fresh would be nice. I understand why no LOD buttons, but LOD0 / Reset button still would be helpful.

There are still quite a few models I cannot get to load. For instance, P61 or the He-177. Quite often the program just hangs, no error message. Maybe it could become more verbose? Or should I just run it in debug mode then?

Anyone able to get the F-100 to load? I get this error -

Could not find file 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\000_F100D\3do\Plane\F-100D(Multi1)\0.537107 -3.54751 0.0976743.mat'.
File name: 'C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\000_F100D\3do\Plane\F-100D(Multi1)\0.537107 -3.54751 0.0976743.mat'

Those dont like texture names, but I could be wrong? Am I right in thinking this maybe an error with the model's .him file?

I have to agree with hello, I have only just tried the tool although I have been following the thread since it began, it certainly seems to be a excellent tool for all. 8)

Thank you very much for putting it together it is greatly appreciated.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Guys just give me a link to any mods that don't load and I will look at them.

Most problems I am finding now are caused by people editing the files by hand and doing something I wasn't expecting.

The more crashes people report, the more bullet proof I can make the app. So don't think it's a criticism, please tell me.

I really would like a link to the mod though, this site is BIG. Finding the exact mod you are having problems with can be a real problem.

On the job front, I had a phone interview today with a company called SuperMassive Games. They phoned back 30 minutes later and got me to come into the office on Thursday. Looking good guys. Might be out of the brown and smelly.

@hello

Yes that's a good idea. I can add that. I'll start thinking about the best way to implement it.
