Messerschmitt Me-509, Version 1.01

Download:

https://www.mediafire.com/?71q7vjkm1i6corl

FM and minor 3D update - place wing and hier files into 3do/plane/Me-509, and the Me509_FM file in the top Me-509 folder. Replace existing files.

https://www.mediafire.com/?l7zf4vgoc3gs3xc

Credits:

Based on the Me-209 mod (wings, tail and most of the stock skin), so thanks to 101tfs and Crazyflak.
These parts are near identical to those on the Me-509 (same series of aircraft), which made my life a whole lot easier.
As ever, thanks to the original IL-2 game authors.

Installation:

Me-509 folder to #SAS.
Add following lines to the files listed

air.ini:

Me-509           air.Me_509 2                      NOINFO  g01   SUMMER

plane.ru:

Me-509          Me-509, 1946

just a little bug

When pilot is killed, he is shown behind the cockpit with his head sticking out of airframe.

Bravo! How can you make a new aircraft quicker than I can comment on it?! :D

Will be taking this one for a spin later.

Thank you Matt! :)

just a little bug

When pilot is killed, he is shown behind the cockpit with his head sticking out of airframe.

I've just uploaded a minor update, which should solve this, along with the empty cases being dropped out of the port wingtip. I've also included an improved flight model, with more powerful engine (closer to the original, 20 horses too high now rather than 55 too low) reduced drag coefficient (as it's more streamlined than the Bf-109) and correct wing area. It feels more like a late war fighter now; it can match late war American fighters such as the P-51D and late models of P-47.

Some feedback on the FM would be appreciated once you've all had a chance to try it out.

Not going to happen mate - also that's not simple, it would mean re-drawing the entire fuselage.

Nice to see the Me-509 in the banner picture.
