That is a very nice design for an IJA aircraft. Great choice Matt.
In a certain , this airplane reminds me of a recent mod-airplane
that was released a while back, but from the Luftwaffe 1946-jet-series.

Just make it a little bit bigger and add a J7W1 propeller  ;D The designs are very similar.

Your slowly making that documentary Secret Japanese Aircraft of WW 2 a reality.

Quite a good show full or in segments  g\

There is even a 46 sensrio in 3d as well.

Was this designated the R-2 Secret Air Intel found loads of goodies in Japan that they really never knew about

Cheers Again,

I know the very one farang. I used to have the book as well until one of my mates nicked it. They're doing a re-run in the summer though so i'll pick up a copy then.

Here's the last days progress:

I'm using my own propeller to make sure I get a smooth fairing between the nose and boss. I can't import the J7W1 prop, otherwise i'd modify that.

I have to admit, nor did I until a few days ago - I was looking at the Me-509 (a similarly conceived craft) and came across this. I decided if I used the wings from something else again (A7M this time), I could make a quick project of it - so here you go.

Next is more java work and a skin. I'm permitting myself one inaccuracy - the reconnaissance version didn't carry any armament, but i'm leaving the guns on from the A7M. It'll be more fun to fly and you can always set the warload to empty. Also, the turbojet version was intended as a fighter so it's only a small step.
