Excellent Mod Mike, many thanks. Works like a charm in HSFX 7.02 and IL-2 412.2M

Now I can deal with the problem of the game putting me at just about the right height, to get bounced every time, and hard with it.

With this mod, I can bang on a couple of thousand feet, stay there and do some epic up-sun bouncing of my own.

"Wo ist der RAF?"

ACHTUNG! SPITFIRE!!!

"Help yourselves everbody, there's no fighter escort etc etc" :)

Cally, I'm flying Hurricanes and Spitfires, and it works :)

Don't forget to add a new key command in the 'control' menu, next to 'level stabilizer'

Hey thanks for the reply!

Well i binded a key for it, but when i activate the control....the plane stays level but i can't maneuver? (But then i only tried it on a bomber.)

this is exactly what level stabiliser does - what were you expecting?
it is designed so that you can stay level, especially for bombing purposes, and does not allow for maneuvers.
fyi, most of the bombers come with built-in level stabiliser - you don't need this mod at all if you want to only use it for bombers.

To add to Malone's answer:

You can do very small left and right manoeuvres using the rudder trim (provided your aircraft had this). One major difference between this and autopilot is that this works online as well as offline.

For long hauls between points I set the level stabilizer, sit back, put my feet up, and carefully watch the compass heading. If it strays I simply input a bit of rudder trim and get back on track. In some ways this is better than cruise control on a car - you can leave to have a whizz and come back with little or no harm done (unless a hill gets in the way! Been there. Done that). Try that on the highway some time!! Wait. I recall some bozo who did just that in an RV. He then sued the RV company because they didn't explain that cruise control is just a speed control.

thanks for the tip, Bob - i didn't realise that. what i've been doing is just briefly disabling it, doing slight course (rudder) adjustment, then switching it back on...

and double lol, mate, i've also experienced coming back from a brief excursion to the heads, or the kitchen, only to find a big smoking crater in the side of a hill... :D

No 4.10 modding on my side anymore, sorry.
Maybe there's been one, I can't remember.

Best regards - Mike
Even in times of unobfuscted class files?  ;)
