CWatson and I have now made the Duck an Arty Spotter....

We do need some help changing the rear gunner's pit so its more correct then what the Duck has now. We tried the pit from the Devastator's rear gunner but it would not show. The plane loaded in game but it wont let you switch to the rear gunner and after hitting shift+tab, no errors show so if someone here can help, I would be very greatful.

I have to research who made it because I altered it to be a default skin so other planes dont have the same tail numbers. So I to remove the tail numbers, fixed the ailerons part of the skin so they look correct when moving and added the vent just above the float. I need to give proper credit for the skin.

I believe it had to be Ecto or Texx. If anyone can tell me I would be greatfull so I can give them their credit.

i've been trying to track the skins down, also with no joy - it's also possible that Gumpy did this skin....? or, at least, he might know who did it....

I need to look on the FM site. I believe whoever made them came from there.

It's one of stanislao's skins:

The screenie that he posted doesn't have a tail number but the download does(7790).

BA & CWatson this looks great. Thanks for reworking the venerable Duck.
Will this be 2 versions like the original or one consolidated Duck?
I love that you put "air" in the tires. And better COG for water is a plus+++

More progress....

There will some who may complain about the landing lights position. Unfortunately IL2 has its limits. The wings are so thin that the lights do hang down just a bit but if I even move them up a tiny bit, the light shows through the upper part of the wing.

I found a pic showing the landing lights on a real duck. Not sure if its WWII acurate or modern but I think its better for night missions if we have them.

Other upgrades are being worked on daily.

of course, not much chance of spotting a downed pilot in the sea at night, without lights :D
