I meant that it is an experimental aircraft :-(. Although to me it basically does not matter because I was more interested in ww2 era. Enough, but I was disappointed that out of all those lovely Yakovlev Design of the Cold War, the authors chose precisely this aircraft :-(.

Thanks for the comment  ;) But there is a special reason why I "precisely" choose this aircraft. It was a "technology demonstrator", a thing to prove that the USSR can build VTOL aircraft; a context that I found very similar to IL-2 modding community  ;)

P/S: I've post a new download link for those without HD mod. Thanks Bison_M for take part in the conversion.

I just found this unusual bug...
when I let the AI fly this thing, they do approach the landing area normally...
Unfortunately, there's a weird bounce and they just went directly over the water (As in the case of the Okinawa map where I test ever new plane instead of making a mission)
This happened while they are landing in a x8 speed configuration (I haven't tested other options though)
Most importantly, I CAN'T BAIL OUT WHEN I LANDED (especially if it's a crash landing and the fuel tank is smoking... yeah, I'm still practicing to land this plane, I'm successful a few times, at others, it seems that one final requirement to land her is a flat landing spot)

Many thanks S3 for this little cracker !
Flies beautifully, and I seem more adept with the Yak-36 than with helicopters  :D
Did the Russians abandon VTOL after this or was there an equivalent to the Harrier?
Also,I actually think it's quite a good looking a/c in a sort of portly way  ;D

Cheers

Guys,

I've post version 1.26 at first post, added a tail hook for Carrier operation. Thus the VTOL was map to the Deploy fuel probe key. Please make your adjustment.

Minor FM and 3d fixes was apply as well.

Cheers,

S3

mate, the stock game has issues like this when playing on 8 x speed. i don't recommend this as any sort of testing benchmark.
try it with normal speed and test - don't report some issue with 8 x speed as a bug unless the same happens at normal speed. the game has many difficulties doing many things at 8 x speed, and this is no way to do testing.
the bail out problem has already been mentioned - i'm sure it will be addressed in the future. ;)

PS: Eric, the link for v1.26 shows invalid or deleted file - you might need to re-upload it, mate ;)

latest SAS engine mod have it  :)

I left the 1.25 version there as well. Because any further development of this aircraft will be heavily base of SAS Engine Mod 2.6 for 4.11.1m and will no longer be compatible to 4.12 or other game version.
