I like the second pic... You've got that metal so shiny!

Are these new HD skins sharp enough that you can read the stencils? Or will they be slightly pixelated/blurry still?

i will try to get them more sharp , but i think if i do them in realistic size its get small and blurry

but i think its not that bad , you can see that there are stencils  ;)

Hey Pagan,

Beautiful work!, slight observation and question.

The last series of pictures shown, is that P-47 painted a grey or is it intended to be natural metal?

I only ask becuse near the end of the war when aircraft were sparsly painted and left bare metal.
The aluminum used was an alloy designed for strength and flexibility. But was "clad" (coated with a fine later of pure aluminum), This was to allow the pure surface layer to oxidize first and protect the rest of the metal from corroding.
This is also why aircraft are so pretty and reflectivly shiny when polished.

My obersvation is, on the edges of your panels (wear marks) look more like paint chips, then scratchs and nicks, and would be a slightly darker color(very slightly) of were the aclad has worn off (scratches, scrapes but really doesn't chip).

But if is a painted aircraft then it is awesome and works fine.

My two cents worth. Keep up the awesome work. And more pics of your P-47 when done and you FW-190!

i try to get the metal-look you describe , but it looks not "real" at the moment  ;)

a lot a shadering must be done to made it shine and metal enough to call it photoreal  :)

but it takes time , only worked a week now on the template , and many details are missing at this time ,

but i will show you guys the progress like on my Fw Templates , so stay tuned

Your newer bare metal looks great!

It was a trade off on actual polishing the aircraft, A highly polished was very smooth and alittle better performace wise, (actualy giving an additional 10 mph over a dull finish) But it was highly relefective and bounced sunlight all over the sky. (By the end of 1944 we all but broke the Luftwaffe and really didn't care anymore.)

Traditionally the aircrft was just maintained and the finish dulled a little, (ground crew had enough to do with out shining the airplane).

I thinnk you new version looks just about right for a standard bare metal combat finish, not mirror finished but enouigh light reflecting to show lack of paint.

Now as weird as it is and even sounding contary to what I said before, your wear marks on a bare metal "Tarnished" plane will be slightly lighter as opposed to the darker as I stated before.

In a sense it breaks down like this the underlying metal (the alloy) is slightly darker then the polished Pure aluminim (Alclad) coating yet will be slightly lighter then the tarnished Alclad. If that makes sense to you.

Anyway it all looks great, and it's your to do as you wish with.
