Hi here I will post all new voices created by SAS members for this project.

The idea is to create some more interest and variation in the radio voices. Contributors can ad lib to make their actor truly unique and specific to any given time/theatre of war/squadron etc etc

Unzip the files and place them in the actor folder referred to in the description.

The numbers correspond to in-game radio calls from:

Actor1 - Flight leader
2 - bomber 1
3 - bomber 2
4 - tower
5 - gunner
6 - flight pilot 1 (wing)
7 - flight pilot 2
8 - flight pilot 3
9 - flight pilot 4


You will find these folders in IL2 Root Folder/Samples/Speech/Nationality (e.g. GB, DE)

Backup your original ActorX folder then delete contents in the original and copy over the files in these downloads .


The file descriptions will give an indication of which nationality, time period and theatre the voices are designed for.

The actors 6, 7, 8 and 9 are pretty much interchangeable - change the ActorX number of the folder to the actor you want to replace

Create your own pilot voices - easiest method yet.

You will find actor files with audio files in them. The audio is blank. The name of the file is the guide what to say. Ignore the prefix, it's for me to order the files for conversion. Open your favourite sound editor (I use audacity), load a file, record the phrase and save the file with the same name I have used (Important!). Repeat for all the files in the actor folder.

You can save as wav or mp3 and don't worry about sound quality as I will lo-fi your voice anyway.

You can do any actor or all of them. If you want to do actor6,7,8,9 (same files do all these actors) but don't want to do Actor1, use Actor6789 STANDALONE (some of the files are shared between Actor1 and Actor6789 so if you do Actor1 there is less to do for Actor6789).

This approach means you can record in any language you like!

Using this method, the smaller actors (2,3,4,5) only take a few minutes.

Have fun and don't forget to act and Ad Lib some phrases!

PM me any finished Actor folders and I'll prepare them for use in Il2 and send back to you.

Hi Malone, I wanted to start with an easy one (actor 4 only has 50 phrases) and Actor 4 is sort of stand alone so can be added to existing packs.

So, other actors - yes, I'll make 'em if you send 'em

It would be nice to have also a Slovak ground control voice, cause in original game voice for Slovak ground control is German.
I need it for mine and Cracken's campaigns!
