KG 200 missions
« on: February 10, 2013, 04:08:52 AM »

Hi

Once I read about the KG-200 unit they were a very special unit. They flew with many aircraft types, like Fw-200 or captured B-17 or Me-323 and they got secret missions. So I would like to request a campaign for them these campaign could be fictional, or historical.

Hi'
There is several good, interesting book's on KG 200 activities.  They used captured B-17's for agent dropping behind allied lines in1944/45. They also flew supplies from Wienna to the garrison on isle of Rhodos.

Hi
It would be nice to work in progress with you, I read intel's about this unit in one of my hm technikal aircraft book, and in some novels. I would like to fly full missions with take off and landings, If you give me some time till I get home from university, Iwill try to find that topic in my book, but as I said these one could be fictional . I'm using the same version as you if you meant the DBW 1.71 :D. If you have some spirit for this, It can be a full campaign with quite a lot missions or single missions your choice. ;) Thanks for the reply it will be nice to work with you!!  :D

You could build a hidden German base in Afrika as late as 1944 and land on it with a captured B-17. It is historical! Drup spys over Russia to kill Stalin... Fly from Greece to Irak in 1944.... Fly to Japan in march 1945....But no combat missions...

they flew with the He-111 and launched V-1 rockets against London
and I think there would be some opportunity for combat flights
like they tested the nevest fighters and figterbombers, Fw-190+ mistel and others

There is already available a KG200 campaign, http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=1572 , it is a 43 mission fictional campaign based on KG200 , I have run this on vanilla il2, up3 and dbw, not seen problems with any version.

hope this helps

A KG200 Campaign featuring any of these would fit the bill eh ?

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,7873.48.html

There could be agent drops or rescue missions deep into allied territory ....

Or even an Allied campaign of pilots flying into Norway on covert SOE/OSS missions using captured float planes ...

This cud be something new for the sim ?   8)
