I dunno  I just bought the Game today and its still downloading all the expansion packs, so I have no idea of what to do yet, Im a Noob. ???

Once you get everything loaded up, just figure out what kinda game you want to play, and play. Team deathmatch is running around killing people, without any real objectives other than get the most kills. Conquest modes are kinda like capture the flag. Most the modes, with the exception of team deathmatch feature vehicles (tanks,bmps,troop transports,helicopters, and planes). Fun game. I use to play it on Xbox360 all the time.

Is this playing stand alone or multi?

You can play a stand alone singleplayer campaign. Or multiplayer.

I was referring to multiplayer when talking about game modes. The single player campaign is ok, nothing special. Then again, if you haven't player many first person shooters, you might like it. But if you've played all the Battlefields and Call Of Duty games, you'll see the set pieces are very cliche.

Man, the only first person shooters Iv played were MOH and BIA, and my Brothers in Arms CD is Fubar, so I decided to go for BF3 and give it a go, just not sure about online play as of yet. Thanks for all the info man.

Online is fun, especially on large maps. You can virtually run around and learn how to do stuff without a whole lot of attention being called to you (ala people bitching cause you are a noob). They will only grief you if you hop in a plane or helicopter then crash right away.  I use to do that just to piss people off. Sometimes, people spend the whole 30 minutes, or 60 minutes in a plane or chopper, they don't get down on the ground to help capture flags, and that pisses me off. So I'd throw all my C4 packs on the plane, wait for the "lone wolf" teammate (who thinks shooting down 2 planes in a 30 minute match actually helps) takes off in the f'n thing, then detonate all the C-4, disabling the plane so he's gotta bail.   

I'd say, play the single player campaign to get use to the controls, then try MP. You might do better than you think. If I had the PC version, I'd jump on there with you, but I only have the 360 version. Sucks cause I could teach you the ropes on it.

Yeah Im going to be a complete noob, but hey, I was a complete noob with all my games at first, then when I learn, look out. But it would be cool to go into battle with you. Well, its still downloading the entire expantion's pack's and only at 45% complete, damn thats a big ass download. ???

Lol, it so far has 4 expansions, with 1 more coming later this year IIRC..or is it 5..haven't played in a while.

yeah, also stick with your team if you are new, and don't rush out in the open go from cover to cover, stop ads , move etc. I also play this all the time, including with some machinima guys
