I'd like a Pacific War series told from the perspective of the Japanese. I'm of the opinion the Pacific isn't done enough. Glad that The Pacific was finally gotten around to being made. One thing's for sure though. I know I would not want to watch anything related to BoB (way overdone. Same reason I stay away from CloD), and I'd be hard pressed to have interest in something related to the Mediterranean or the mid-late war bombing of Germany.

You know what, Just follow an individual.
There are VERY FEW people in the second world war that would have a more roller-coaster ride experience worthy of story than Adolf Galland. Imagine a series following him from the Army, to the Legion Condor, Luftrwaffe, BoB, etc etc to the fall of the reich.
It would be freakin epic!

HBO is considering a possible sequal to 'Band of Brothers' and 'The Pacific'

http://collider.com/hbo-band-of-brothers-series/204805/

Early days but heres hoping :)

When they consider doing another PTO sequel to Band of Brothers, why not considering some of the more unusual stuff like the following:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eugene_B._Fluckey

more air related stuff worth a movie/series:

Russian Revolution might be interesting. Allthose ideals, the hopes, the fears - and how they matured or were crushed during the civil war.

I made a little IL2 movie way back called "The Other Band of Brothers" and it was a B17 mission.  That would be my preference. Following a crew through a tour would be interesting but perhaps it could combine a look at the bomber campaign from the allied point of view (e.g. a US Squadron) and also the fighter defence point of view (e.g. a Luftwaffe Squadron).  It would be a challenge as it would be similar to merging "Flags of our Fathers" with "Letters from Iwo Jima".  The aerial combat would be something given what they can do with CGI etc.

Conversely there's the Battle of Britain which could be also done from both sides although there's obviously the original 1968 movie.  Personally if they go the Battle of Britain route they should use the book "A Question of Honour".  What the Polish pilots went through and how Poland got royally screwed over by the Allies.  An extremely interesting read.

Looks like its Air war but Europe being the focus

HBO‘s long-in-the-works World War II miniseries project from Band Of Brothers and The Pacific producers Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, has acquired the rights to Donald L. Miller’s book Masters Of The Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought The Air War Against Nazi Germany, which may be joined by other source material

Wherever it is set if the makers of 'Band Of Brothers' are doing it I'm sure it will be as accurate as possible. Not like that 'Red Tails' from last year - blech!!! Thats the second time I walked out on a movie. The other good thing of course is it will be free-to air TV.  :)

I had been thinking, hoping, that with the Great War Centennial coming up in 2014, that HBO might be thinking of doing something in the nature of the Band of Brothers series, but then on the Great War. Even if it probably would inevitably involve the relatively minor involvement of American fighting units in relation to the rest of the war, it would be an appropriate moment to make a quality series on the Great War. And HBO does do a great job when it comes to combat realism ...

But another series on the Pacific airwar would be fine too.
