I wish for two more airstrips for land and a few for sea.
Sveagruva got a airfield, I have landed there myself also Barentsburg should maby have one

Problem is, that during WWII there were only airport close to Longyearbyen and airship landing place close to Ny-Alesund (big hangar with small creepy landing place). There were also ports for hydroplanes close to airfields. So even airfield on Bear island on the south is synthetic (It was necessary to have some airfield for take off of bombers) but I do not want to put more synthetic airfields on map (You must train offroad landing :P ).

I do not know if my new install of Tigers 33 soundmod is messing with me. But I made some QMB missions on this map and in a very random places the game freezes on this map and stutter.

The map was developed for clear game 4.10+ with mod enabler. It means it do not contain any special thinks or scripts that can cause any big problems... I suppose. This map shoud be also FPS friendly (few objects, simple textures..)

Simple question: How do I get snow instead of rain?
I tried it by lowering temperature below zero in load.ini but that did not work.

Ansver is not simple. This is big problem. Oleg expected that There is rain in summer and snow in winter, so you must change month. But if you change month to 1 (january) for example, there will be polar nigth  :(. So I dont know how to perfom snow in summer.

In load.ini I changed MONTH=11 and TEMPERATURE =  -10 and I have snow.
At 9.00 AM I have daylight, so for me everything is fine.  :)

Seems to work well.
Changing the month & temp works to get snow.

Hi Lynx,

Your awesome at making winter maps.    :D ;) :)

You made it look so blique and miserable looking I'm sure that you will have to crank the engine over a number of times just

to get it started for take off.

Or warm up the engine with a small fire burning undernearth it

I can feel the chill factor just looking at the pics  ;D ;)

The map looks great and it is definitely an immersion map for tough, excrutiating winter campaigns   ;)  8)

Loved the little typo about the bacon  ;D ;)

Here I am trying to figure out where to put a piece of Canadian bacon into the fmb.  ???

You've got me baffled there he he  ;D

Once again an excellent winter map and an excellent immersion map for the chilling cold to the bone winter missions and operations.  ;) :) :D

Cheers

When I changed to month to 11, and the temp to -10, I got snow, but it turned the water black, without any waves. I noticed this when I made my first daytime mission. When I changed everything back to the original, the sea was normal.
Very strange ???????

Installed and tried...thank you for the great map! Jolly good, jolly good!!!   ;D

About snow, I looked into two stock maps, Ardennes and Slovakia, which have this entries:

[WORLDPOS]
CAMOUFLAGE = WINTER
MONTH=12
DECLIN = 50
PRESSURE    = 745
TEMPERATURE =  -5

[WORLDPOS]
CAMOUFLAGE = WINTER
WATER_STATE = LIQUID
MONTH = 1
DECLIN = 49
PRESSURE = 745
TEMPERATURE = 0

Interesting thing, in slovakia ini, the line: water_state=liquid   -Still have to test, though

.

Now tested.
If you want snow and waves, the right solution is to use the Slovakia_Winter settings:

[WORLDPOS]
CAMOUFLAGE = WINTER
WATER_STATE = LIQUID
MONTH = 1
DECLIN = 49
PRESSURE = 745
TEMPERATURE = 0

DECLIN = 49
... Instead of 83 !
By setting this value you change completely the sunrise and sunset... And lose the charm of this map.
A choice to make ...
