With UP and DBW you shouldn't need the Zuti mods either should you, since they are already in there.. I imagine that is for ModAct only.....

You should not need it in HSFX either.....

Let us know for sure.

Cheers....

Whenever you have any mod in your install, you need not to duplicate it. But there might be guys not having some mod there, espacially in older versions. The duplication makes trouble only in UP3RC4 and DBW1.71 installations, there the game does not run then. It is emphasised in readme.txt.

I really love how Minsk looks.  The city textures and railway stations are excellent.  I'd like to use that texture for my own maps.  Do you plan to use the same or similar textures for the other cities?

I found what I think might be a copy/paste error... there is a fence across the railroad not far south of Minsk.  I realize there is more work to be done but thought I should mention that.

Keep up the good work, Uzin!

Everybody can freely use whatever he needs to use in his (her) own projects, but remember that Minsk sity textures are made on particular Luftwaffe aerofotos,

http://warfly.ru/?lat=53.895033&lon=27.569160&z=12

so elsewhere would be not too adequate, I think. This mine experimental approach to city textures has, unfortunately, drawback that it occupies too much texture positions in load.ini - there are 8 textures of 1024 x 1024 pixels size, purely for Minsk. The remedy might be to use larger city textuires, say, 2028 x 2028 , or even better, 4096 x 4096 pixels textures, as developed by Carsmaster at dispersalsfield.

Unfortunately, there are some objections against it, partly of the side of TD, which might be unpleasant to some mapmakers, lol.

Thank you, will be repaired in the futuire patch, together with more correct location of Brest airfield, according to newly received info.

Hi Uzin, This is a really great map! Many thanks for it. I do have an issue however: the centre of Minsk is completely black.. I think this is caused by the AF_Minsk_C.tga being of size 1024x1025. My ATI card can not handle it (needs 1024x1024 textures). Any chance of an update?

Thank you for your remark. You are the second to winner, Gromm at Aviaskins,   ;).
Just replace , in _tex/uzin/Belarus/summer/ folder, the file AF_Minsk_C.tga by that you can d/l here :

https://www.mediafire.com/?uii1nec4nk1n4d4

Many apologies to you and other users for discomfort. It happens without my consciousness, by GIMP itself, since I have had 6 variants of that file, 5 of the of correct size, and just the sixth one, which I overlooked, was so spoiled. It is weird that only some users have this trouble. Perhaps it would be useful for everybody, if you write us the configuration of your PC and Il2 , please ?

I have always enjoyed Uzin's excellent terrain textures, the objects look great in this map too.  8)

I hope Uzin will be contributing his skills to the epic and famous "Complete Moscow Map"
that has been a WIP for over 24 months now.  :o

I am sorry but I do not participate in development of Moscow map, the main contributors are, as I remember, Oknevas, Mixx, Carsmaster, Molva, Partisan, nachprod and Koloksai.

EDIT: remember that Slowakia map took three years to develop, to a group of similar size.

You know how you can double or quadruple the size of a texture by adding "-2" or "-4" or even "-8"?
example:  uzin/texture name.tga, -2

Just wondering if you have experimented with that.  Maybe you could combine all the textures into one texture file, reduce that to 1024, and then use "-2 or -4".
This is just a theory of mine.  I'm not sure if it would work but it sure would save slots for other textures.

As you can see in load.ini, all the Minsk textures are doubled, by adding -2. Not tried to use -4 , do not know if it works. In any case, KevinP does not mention this possibility.   ;)
There is, however, another drawback of doubling method : textures became less sharp, perhaps too much. Your suggestion is interesting, but having Minsk in Il2 of the proper size, limited  by the shape of Svisloch river (that flowing  in the town ), required those 8 doubled textures to cover the area.
I should like to experiment with Carsmasters method. There it is necessary only to apply his new .dll file, and larger textures may be used together with the former ones, in a mixture. He states it.
