Hi Ice

Very Nice indeed .

Could you maybe correct the red hue. This red paint was called "Wein Rot". It was not the same red as the RLM one used to paint the numbers and RV bands. It's a far more brownish red , like Bordeau wine.

You should have a sample il all your Library  ;)

Nice , work , sure will fly her ! .

Test flight/landing:
I appologize for video quality.. its fraps and it always makes it look 'jerky'.

The wheels/struts look awesome!

trying to 'weather' them.. Opinions please.

Nearly finished it may be Sonny, but I had when the game puts the 'skin' on the body and the seams show.. currently trying
to rectify that problem. I want this skin to be near perfect, so paitence will be rewarded ;)

Horrido!

Hi Ice

You are really in search of perfection ...

Nice rendering in video... this seam looks  not too disturbing.

Just a question.

On the picture we can see that the inner face of the wheel was left in factory standard finish.
On your skin you painted both faces in Weinrot . Is this because of tech limitation ?

One little remark.

For me this Weinrot on the wheel is still too brown ( weathered or not it should remain more redish IMHO ). It looks like you used the same colour as on the exhaust.

Let's go , Ice , she is nearly Staffel's service ready  ! :D

Hello Sonny,

Here you can see the gun soot isn't uniform, and stops at the seam. I HATE that!

And here you can see a little improvement I made.

And here I changed the colour of the exhaust dumps (never liked the templates colour)

The wheels being painted on both sides is a result of the game.. I have no control over it.
Not in search of perfection, that cannot be achieved. Just trying to make this 109 as historic as possible within my abilities.

Hello Ice

That's what I said "as historic as possible" ( equals perfection for me ).

Nice improvements on the exhausts.
Do not stick to much on the MG sooth.
As far as I know , germans had maybe some materials shortage but surely not muscle power.
Die schwarzmänner did all they could to give their pilots the best out of their assigned AC. Aircraft even worn were kept clean and waxed so as to give them and their pilots the maximum speed . Waxed paint give them from 15 to 20 km/h more speed .Even small this asset could  save their lives , especially at that time of the war ,when LW didn't rule the sky.

Keep on rocking ...and have a little rot Wein !  :D

Sonny  :)

PS. Shame for the wheels !

Hello Sonny,

Remember, the discription on this aircraft was:

' Dirty, Banged, Dinged, Scratched, Burned, & Muddy '. So it seems it was in heavy combat at least for a little while before May 8th, 1945
(no time for 'blackmen' to clean/upkeep etc.). Maybe to aid in retreat to American lines?

Whether that would ground attack (unlikey becouse there was SG 1 & 10 [FW190's] in the area along with some STuka gruppen) on planes/tanks, or air battles. Helmut Lipfert imo may have been the pilot instead of Gerhard Richter. Remember.. In May 45 ALL records where lost!

But I bet LA-7 & IL-2 where lost to this aircraft ;)
