Firstly, apologize to vpmedia and cyberolas, I place three of them in the wrong places

buildings.House$Hangar_typeG
buildings.House$Flag_ArmeeRouge
buildings.House$RussiaKievHangar_Lrge2

I made them all go to 3do\Buildings\Industrial.

They should

3do/Buildings/Russia/Kiev/Hangar_typeG
3do/Buildings/Russia/Kiev/RussiaKievHangar_Lrge2
3do/Buildings/Pacific/Flag_ArmeeRouge

They are now good to go!

Sorry Cyberolas,  if I want to have Kursk as a NEW Map with NEW texture, what do I do?

Create Kursk_RRR folder, add line to all.ini, copy all files to this folder. I´m not sure...you will need some next default files....mmm...

SmallMap  = map_M.tga
FarMap    = map_F.tga
ReflMap   = map_R.tga

If you have repaint, il-2 engine take these files from default directory into il-2 engine. Can you use extractor? If not, I try extract them, but not tonight...

For anyone that can't find the Hanger Mod 1 & 2, it is available for DL from this site:

http://www.checksix-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=163149

Wanted to share it because it took me forever to find it, wanted to save others the trouble. Enjoy!

My game installation is Steam 4.12 without any mega-packs or mods...
I placed Hangar and Hangar 2 files...

So, can you present "Guide for idiots" for clean installation - how to get your Kursk work...?

I tried some of your instructions, but obviously there are some differences between "vanilla" and moded games.

(I did not played or moded for almost 3 years... so please explain "step by step" - what should I do ?)

This is piece of art so I simply must have it (default maps seems to be crap 10 years old... :(

With a default version adding mods is out of the question.
First you need a modded version of the game like:

http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,37662.0.html
or
http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,45222.0.html

and when you got the modded 4.12.2 up and running come back here to download the reworked Kursk map.
As far as I know Hangar mods are included and adding the downloaded Kursk map is fairly easy:

Drop the 'Kursk' folder in 'Your modded installation/MapMods/maps'
and the other folder in '/MapMods/maps/_Tex/East/

I've never even heard of a steam version of Il-2 before this. Doesn't steam require that you be connected to the Internet all the time while playing the game because essential parts of the game remain in a nebulous cloud somewhere on a server?

So wouldn't that mean that a steam version can't really be modded?

Not trying to discourage anyone here, but I am curious about the steam aspect.

I am afraid that you might be right. Structure of files seems to be different...
Problem is that my old DVD can not install at Win 7 64 :( so I tried with Steam version...)

I am afraid that if I order new DVD - it will not apply on Win 7 64... or it will connect again to "bloody steam"

Sorry for spoiling thus nice thread...

No spoiling a thread here. Messages are to help members.

Anyway, I play on win8 but from an old dvd I bought in a store. Cheap too, even back then. Maybe you could look for an actual dvd on eBay or somewhere. It's not bound to cost much.
