unfortunately Imageschack now converts .bmp's to png Grrr...

You can save indexed files as PNG. So, convert the texture to 8-bit, then save / export as PNG like you would normally export a BMP.

Then, people can open the file in GIMP and export it as a BMP file. This way, they don't need to do any conversion from 24-bit colour to indexed, which is when losses can occur.

Cheers, it was pre-upload, posterised and then indexed before saving as 24bit bmp (yeah I know they do the same, I just like to do it that way to make sure and to minimise 'indexing' errors - always do it with 'dithering' & any RLE encoding swithced off,) - imageshack in tha last year or so, has changed how it handles pics - it converts them - so downloaders will have to reconvert - should still be in 256 colours though...

Yeah, I downloaded the PNG and it seems to be in 256 colours already, so apparently imageshack's image conversion routine has some sense in it. People can simply save that as BMP and be ready to roll with it.

By the way, I'm Finnish, not Japanese. Other people have thought my nick sounded Japanese as well. Can't imagine why.

Tohtori, as spelt that way, sounds near Japanese to english speakers, almost like a family/surname name.. and that Tori in Japanese means gate (so does Tor in German).
