Er..... the D.XXI's engine was an 830 hp Bristol Mercury and not a 1,000 hp engine.

Well, I've had the modification with the PW Twin Wasp Junior in mind. Point stands also for Bristol Mercury. Thanks for pointing it out.

The Italians built two lightweight fighters, the S.A.I.207 and the S.A.I.403 Dardo, which were extremely fast for the installed power. The 207 achieved 398 mph @ 14,765 ft with a 750 hp Isotta-Fraschini Delta R.C.40 engine, the 403 Dardo 403 mph @23,620 ft with a 750 hp Isotta-Fraschini Delta R.C.21/60 engine. Only 13 207s were built as the order for 2,000 aircraft was replaced with an order for 3,000 403s. However, the 1943 armistice terminated all work on the 403 before tooling had been completed.

Any chance we'll see a 4.09 version of this beauty, even if it's just a WIP?
