Welcome to DBW-1916 IL2+Mods Farman
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,34720.0.html

Currently they use the same slots as the MF-11&11bis versions so I can only import the Farmans into DBW-1916 when they get a new slot.

yes indeed, we do need new slots desperatelly, I would not like to put aside any of the previews released aircraft.
Unless we can somehow substitute (or replace) some of those old stand-in-Frankenplanes, which some do not
look very good. Although, some of those frankenplanes do look very much like WW1 era aircraft.
We shall see what can be done.

By this friday I should be finished with some interior details skins and some other new skins for you to test in
your game VPmedia.
At the moment I am testing some new changes to my games visuals in my maps and skins. I want more details
and WW1 era style realism. Some of these things could also be used in WW2 era maps. I will test them next week.
I am making overall changes like new cobblestone roads, new train tracks, some battlefield "no mans land" details,
painting in grey (almost white) rubber tires on all wheeled vehicles and aircraft - black rubber tires were actually a "luxury" and
not really used often. Black tires were rare to see in WW1 years, and a few other changes I want for my game.

Thank you VPmedia for the new links to photograph sets of WW1.
I can never get enough of seeing these classic photos of WW1 and WW2. I have a  terabyte hardrive dedicated just for
saving old photos of WW1 and WW2 and many other years.
I have learned quite a lot just by observing some details in those photos.

Cobblestone roads are certainly great for WWII era roads ...

Cobblestone roads are certainly great for WWII era roads ...

They look great. The cool thing about this new texture is that you get to see and enjoy
all road types for you maps.
Now you have cobblestone, dirt, gravel and asphalt roads for a more realistic visual experience.
Although you do have to zoom in for a closer look, because from 1000 feet up you cant really notice a diference
between cobblestone roads, alphalt or gravel, they pretty much look all the same as in real flying. Apart from
the dirt roads, those usually stand out from the other road types. Its pretty cool, I am really
enjoying this new look to the game. I must test it out on more IL2 maps, but I am quite sure they will add even
more eye-candy to all of them.

If only I could get a volunteer to make all my IL2 vehicle tires more round ... it would look better

I've never understood the lucky happenstance that lead me to buy a copy of Il-2, but when seeing developments like these and many others over the years of mod contributions, I cannot deny that it was a lucky day for me.

The way new improvements are being developed and shared is little less than impressive. They are small steps, but the cumulative result is wonderful.

A great improvement ....

 :D  Thank you Alfie
Actually I am more of a Heavy Metal fan and listen to a lot of Led Zeppelin.
You know how it is, after doing so many skins for WW2 airplanes for so long a guy as to look for
something "diferent" to paint...
... like World War One trucks with funny looking wheels!  :)) AAAAAHAHA!
No matter what I paint I have to enjoy doing it, its got to be a cool challenge, otherwise its not worth it
for my IL2 game.
