Whats wrong with good old fashioned file dates? I mean look inside the 7z and you'll see when the folder was created.
The main thing is that if you dont have all 4 files your install is out of date.

How can I install these type of clouds into all my other maps or the entire game?

You should just treat clouds textures as any other landscape texture. You can choose which cloud textures you wish to use by editing the load.ini

Usually you'll find a line like this

[APPENDIX]
  HighClouds  = Clouds256.tga


The file 'clouds256.tga' is a texture and is located in the root of the _Tex folder. That means if you place other cloud textures in the same location you can replace clouds256.tga with another clouds texture should you wish. Of course, you must also physically copy those clouds textures to that location first.

What yu can also do is make clouds textures map specific, by putting the clouds textures into the map textures folder. Then you will need lines like this to point to the correct location

[APPENDIX]
  HighClouds  = ag/Harbin/Clouds_UUFF256.tga 

or

[APPENDIX]
  HighClouds = Avala/benghalli/Clouds267.tga 

or whatever ...

And you can change the look of maps considerably this way, using thin, high altitude clouds for desert maps for instance ...

You can also make your own cloud textures though there are apparently a few rules to figure out first.

I want that in ALL my maps.

The other clouds are the same for every map, you can only change the cirrus cloud layer on maps.
The cloud shapes are coming from #DBW_1916\CLOUDS\Effects\clouds\clouds4x4.tga which is only 256Kb for good fps, people use 4Mb versions. I also included a deactivated alternative cloud mod in a folder called -#00_CLOUDS_NEW 1024, this is hi-res by Ufflakkee.

It mainly for a visual reference here on the web site.  Basically, can see when a patch was released via date.  Therefore, if already have it, no need to re-download.

I use an extension on the file name such as for example a release today would be:

http://www.vpmedia.eu/il2/zip/DBW1916_patch_20130201.7z  (yyyymmdd) format 

just a suggestion though   :)

But you can check the first post and if you dont have an aircraft ingame which is listed there then you need to update.
I'm sure you noticed that I listed the contents of the last 4 updates in detail.

Plus these patches were added in the last few weeks and the will be unified into one pack as usual so theres no need to complicate things with dates which are available anyway if you take the time and doubleclick the file.

Hi again all,  :)

I just tried to test DreamK's updated FMs for the Dr1 and DIII, and noticed that the DIII won't load in QMB. The Aircraft setup button just pops out again after a few seconds. When I open the DVa in setup, and then selected The DIII, I just get a blank window. My DBW 1916's completely up to date with the latest patches.

I know this is a big request but, I was wondering if someone could do the Nieuport 17 some justice. I don't know much but maybe you could use the 11 as a base?
The 17 is very important to me because my great grandfather flew in (and died in) the Nieuport 17. I thought I could make a small tribute vid for him.
