Vpmedia and Max - this is awesome. Just installed the BetaV2. Perfect installation, no problems and fired up first time. The work you are doing is brilliant! Good to see WW1 brought back to the fore.

Cheers!

skins of tanks

http://forum.aviaskins.com/showthread.php?t=2646
Interesting stuff going on here. This tank skin is a definite improvement. It would be nice though if the originator of the model was credited somewhere.

I have a couple of unreleased WIP's
A7V German tank and the Lanchester armoured car.

The German forces also operated a significant number of captured British MkIV tanks (more than the A7V's).
This would just need a re-skin of the existing MkIV model with German markings and a new slot created. Maybe the skinners could look at this?
HSFX5 included a Renault FT17 so I have abandoned my version of this.

I dont understand...do I need to credit everyone who got stuff in DBW-1916 just because I make an upgrade project?
The tank 3d model is part of the original DBW-1916 package and as you can see I credited the texture artist!

I honestly dont know who made the tank 3d, maybe check DBW-1916 readme...

I am a fan of your work Ashe, as I am sure many are, and to have some exclusive, new content in this would be fantastic. Could they be included yet or are they still needing more work to be done.

Projects like this really show the spirit of co-operation here at SAS and remind me why I am such a fan of this community.

Next version is in works which is much more advanced than the v1b2 version so yesterday I removed the file.
I'll upload the v1b3 version today or tomorrow.

Thanks for the kind compliment DarkBlueBloy, but I must say, all credit for this new upgrade has to
go to VPmedia, mister Istvan. I am just a painter and have no knowledge to do serious modding and messing
around with the games files. Its very tricky/risky stuff. He is the one doing the major work, and pulling out the
needed airplane files so we can paint new skins.
If we all help out, we can all make a better game for us and for our IL-2 friends.
-------------------
Asheshouse , I have seen that German tank before a few months back, and I am sad to say that it
is not included in the game yet. It should be. It must be! Even the other day I was thinking to myself... we NEED a
German tank, specially that big monster that looks like a rolling box with guns.
If you want , please send me the files for it and I will be glad to paint it properly. I bought 2 books on WW1 tanks
specially to paint these "land-ships", and the German tank had some very nice camouflage schemes painted on it.
-------------------
The new painted skin on the WW1 Allied tank looks super, I really like it, and has been credited to the maker before too.
-------------------
VP its great to see that you also found out about those strange holes and shadows on the skin that do not belong to
these WW1 airplanes. These skins were actually painted for many other airplanes but for World War II era airplanes and
other mod-airplanes. The original skin comes from a U2VS template. Its the cool Russian 2-seater biplane in the original game. Many things were changed in the template to fit the new mod-aircraft and now they will need another new template,
skin-paint and parts to fit better these newer WW1 airplanes.
Each airplane is diferent. Each airplane has to be painted with a particular WW1 camouflage and proper paint for a certain year
of WW1. I already have all of these color-chips if you need for me to send them to you. Each aircraft company had their own particular color (and camouflage) they used to paint the machines when they left the factory,
just as in WW2 they did the same.
For the German airplanes, you will also need to take a look at one of my available-Free-to-download roundel layers I put in
Mission4Today website to see the needed markings. Each year of the War, they were changing the Cross designs to be painted
on the airplanes.

- some good info for everyone - http://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/aircraft-articles/23234-national-markings.html

http://ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/stuff_eng_colorcharts_uk.htm
http://ipmsstockholm.org/colorcharts/colorcharts.asp

Looking at the airplanes and the skins I have, they will all need to be changed an re-worked. Many pieces will not look good on these new WW1 airplanes. I am also looking into the other aircraft files to start changing the engine, struts and parts colors to
better fit the new aircraft. I will not change the airplanes as they are or their FM behaviours as I have not much knowledge on
doing that. The full credit will still stand for teh original creators of these magnificent machines they have made. I only paint them.
It will take some days to do all of this, but it is possible.

All I can say is that the all the stuff in the pack is still wip & started as a personal request for info on dbw1916 skins.
I just decided to make my personal package public because there seemed to be a lot of interest in ww1.
It doesnt intend to be a full historic skin package at all...

I'm curious what you can cook up especially for the shared skin planes but
I'd be cautious to invest lot of time into skins for 3d models which maybe replaced.
Plus check v1b3 skins tomorrow, lot has changed.

cheers

I think the term "Master Artist" must apply to the person(s) who did that instrument panel.  I reached out to touch it because it look so REAL.  Awesome.  Unbelievably awesome.  Can I add a "wow"?
