Hey Pete, looks like the Italians sold some to the Japanese. :)

My VERY poor attempt. :)

Hi Mission Bug, about the later colour scheme, it's not necessary to speculate. In Cuatro Vientos Air Museum, You have the fin of the 73-1, in which Ramón Franco crashed on the sea in 1938. BTW, this Ramón was the brother of general, former aviation hero who crossed the Southern Atlantic for the first time in a Dornier Wal, and a former Republican defensor too.

Hello Mark, looks great to me, I haven't got around to what ifs yet. ;) 8)

Hello juanmalapuente, thank you very much for the photograph, I have seen images of the fin in articles but they were all in Black and White so not much good for making a good assumption on the colour.
To my eyes that colour image of yours looks pretty much like the Italian Grey used in the later camouflage, if that is the case then it is safe enough to paint all four aircraft in that later scheme because 73-1 was the first aircraft to be lost.  :-*

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Glad you both like the skins, I certainly enjoyed doing them. :)

As for small grain of sand juanmalapuente, that photograph came at a pivitol moment, without that the work would possbly have stalled.  It tied everything together, like the missing parts of a jigsaw suddenly turning up to allow the work to be completed, thank you very much for the input and to anyone else who provided links and information.

Due to the age of the schemes it can be extremely difficult to put together decent information as the photographs of the period aren't always clear enough to provide you with what you need.  Also, unlike the fighter types which are certainly considered the more glamerous, the support aircraft don't tend to be covered as extensively so you have to try and piece together small snippets of info to enable the job to be completed.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
