Isn't this the exact same cowling than B, but with 3 blades prop? Just grab the cowling and throw it in your B-1 folder.

I mean, com'on!   ...

It was the first step, which I did and don't work. I don't mind. It is OK. ;)

Sorry that I just warning! I will not warn about anything!
Oh, I forgot... Thanks for mod! >:(

Here are the Wildcats!
« Reply #529 on: August 09, 2012, 02:51:52 PM »

Hello again!

The story continues:

Here is something many have been waiting for:
Wildcats with rounder cowling, prop, wheels and wing radiators:

This pack updates F4F-3, F4F-4 and FM-2. In addition to 3D updates the old texture mapping bug on the right side of FM-2 fuselage is fixed and left inner wing can now be damaged for the first time in IL-2.

Download: http://koti.mbnet.fi/raukorpi/WildCat_engine_prop.7z

Installing: Just unpack to your mod folder and make sure they load before your other Wildcat mods. I tested in DBW, but I don't know any possible compatibility issues yet with any IL-2 version. Crazyflak's exhaust effect position fixes are included, so this is compatible with gear damage mod.

Update (24.8.2012): New finished version uploaded with working squadron symbols for F4F-3 and FM-2.

Credits:
- PA_Jeronimo did the 3D modeling work. Thanks a lot!
- I only fine tuned them to release condition, fixed numerous smoothing and other bugs (left inner wing damage, FM-2 fuselage texture mapping etc.).
- Crazyflak fixed the exhaust effect positions.
- Original IL-2 development team allowed us to have all these Wildcats in IL-2, so credits also for them.

I wish you happy carrier operations with the Wildcats!

P.S. The WingLIn binary meshes for FM-2 are needed since they have the damage fix (changed hitbox name).

question:

What tools do you guys use to modify these planes? I would like to make historically accurate cowls for:

Ki-84 is ready!
« Reply #532 on: August 09, 2012, 04:24:31 PM »

Hello once more!

If Thunderbolts and Wildcats aren't enough for the last 24 hours, then here is a little surprise for the other side:
Ki-84 cowling and prop mod:

This pack updates all three stock Ki-84 variants.

Download: http://koti.mbnet.fi/raukorpi/Ki-84_engine_prop.7z

Installing: Just unpack to your mod folder and make sure they load before your other Ki-84 mods. I tested in DBW, but I don't know any possible compatibility issues yet with any IL-2 version. 200th_Sakagawa's exhaust effect position fixes and four-bladed prop are included, so this is compatible with Crazyflak's gear damage mod and UP3/DBW.

Credits:
- PA_Jeronimo did the 3D modeling work. Thanks a lot!
- I fixed smoothing a bit and added four prop blades to all LODs of rotating prop.
- 200th_Sakagawa added the missing exhaust effect positions and originally fixed the blade count of rotating prop.
- Original IL-2 development team allowed us to have the great Ki-84 in IL-2, so credits also for them.

I wish you happy Jug and Wildcat hunting!

Did you ALSO replaced the entries from the hier.him?

I copy all files from: P-47_fix Cowling Engines & prop -> 3do -> plane -> P-47B(Multi1) & P-47B(USA)
to:                       P-47B1 -> 3do -> Plane -> P-47N1(Multi1) & P-47B1(USA)

Author is PA_Jeronimo. PA_Asis is a excellent skinner, however.

Thanx for all your hard work. These little esthetic touches do so much for these birds. It's much appreciated.
