Thanks for the good tips mate. I apreciate your great help.
At the moment I have all games running at 256 RAM (by default) and I have also tested them
with 512 RAM and I am good with that.
I am going to "De-select" some things off from that Generic-Mod-Enabler folder. as I have noticed some of
those things in there I don´t need.
I am not using TRACK-IR so I guess I don´t have to select that part and Enable it.

Most likely the BIG-DBW-MEGAPACK I installed, must have had something missing. It sometimes happens
in this large packs. I will download (and install) all available DBW packs since 1.0 all the way to now + the Hotfix.
Perhaps that will work 
Anyway,
at least I have ULTRAPACK 3 working perfectly and it has some excelent goodies in it.
It´s sad I don´t have that WW1 Somme-map on the list of maps available, but I will try to install it manually
and see if this thing doesn´t blow up.

EVERYTHING IS WORKING SUPERB!! 

Now here is what I did, for all you guys and gals that are still having problems installing this...

Make sure to make a de-fragmentation of your harddrive disc FIRST to write all
the stuff neatly into your pc! - THIS IS A MUST DO !
So, go do it! I don´t care if you did it last week, do another!

next... start out with a CLEAN version install.

1- Install game from DVD...or whatever you got it from.

2 - Then add-Install ALL patches as follows...

3 - 4.08m - can be found on the CD, install from there

4 - 4.09m - download from here and install - http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads&file=details&id=3764

DO NOT ADD ANY MORE PATCHES. Stop here with the patching part

Make any changes to your game settings now and change whatever you want on the "conf.ini  game" settings

Correct. Max, you should only patch up to 4.10.1, then install UP3 RC + UP3 RC4 and then install "DBW 1.0 to 1.71 SuperPack".

Just my principal install : 181 Go (194'916'525'903 octets), and only its Paintschemes folder is 119 Go (128'736'137'618 octets)... and I have 20 installs of the game, from Demo 1 to modded 4.11.1...

It sounds like he already downloaded everything separately, in which case downloading the "Stock 4.07 to DBW1.71 SuperPack" again will unnecessarily waste his internet data. We are talking about many gigs after all.

Max, if you already downloaded everything, you can use what you downloaded. Just leave out 4.11.

However, if you haven't downloaded everything yet (or you have unlimited internet data), you can download the "Stock 4.07 to DBW1.71 SuperPack", since it requires fewer steps to install.

I have patched up my IL-2 game all the way up to patch 4.11.1, and then installed the UP3 and DBW.
I did not understood I could only patch up to 4.10.1 version.

Just bin reading Max thehitmans questions/uncertainties and the replies from those members who are extremely helpful, and patient with we gamers who are not quite on the ball (sorry max if I have inadvertently pulled you into my category). But I have been confused with what to download and put in this/that file and reading replies to this post am not 100% confident with what to do. could there possibly be an idiots concise guide with what to download/install?
e.g.

1. il2 1946 dvd
2. superpack install"
and

It´s a beautiful new game, I am really enjoying the looks of it. The new screens, details,
little buttons and all sorts of cool stuff.
Its a bit sad that some mod-airplanes did not make it into this package, like the
Go-229-NJ (2-seater-Nighfighter with radar), but many other cool airplanes did
make the list.

My enthusiastic applause and congratulations to ALL the Mod-Artists who were involved in this
project of making the IL-2-1946 game STILL THE BEST and most fun flight-sim ever created!
