1GB modified exe's for max performance
« on: December 11, 2009, 04:22:30 AM »

Hello all! :)

Here are the 2 modified versions of the modded il2fb.exe . The first one uses 1GB as max memory.
The other version is also 1GB max memory and it also supports TrackIR.

About this Mod: Replace your previous IL2fb.exe with it (back up your old one)
This mod does not by itself boost your FPS or performance. But what it does is increase the maximum memory that the game can use from 250MB to 1GB. And this will have good effects for you down the line.

Take Care: The second version (for Track IR) is for users with Track IR only, not for users with ususal view, or with usual mouse-6DOF. Those users must use the first one.

Download the 1GB Version of ilfb.exe

Download the 1GB Version of ilfb.exe With TrackIR support

~S~

Addition by CirX: There are some guys who are having trouble with the 1GB exe's. Originally there were various other exe's ranging from 128MB to 512 MB. This is the package with all of them, including the two 1GB ones above. Players who are having trouble with 1GB versions, can try some of the others. Thanx to Cmirko for sending them.

Great. Shiny. Makes my game now crash during mission loading... (at random %'s):'( :'(
Bugger! Just when I was doing a little dance around my desk with excitement for no more stutters... >:(

I've installed it and tested flying over water and noticed a better fps rate and I just tested for freezing or game crashing but mine doesnt do either. I'm using the one for 6DOF and it works fine.
Thank you Hades.

It looks its System-Dependant. Large Memory (4Gigs+) and 64 bit Os is recommended.
And actually it makes possible to Utilize memory UP to 1 GB WHEN game Needs to. The ORIGINAL Max-Memmory limit was 96MB!
Yeap! Its true ;)

Lika Bombsaway, i have an HP  slimline, with a crappy mobo, very little power supply, pitiful graphics card, and for me was an improvement in stutters. I got a smoother gameplay. Thanks.

In fact it helped me (5-6 fps gained) with smaller middle size maps, but it crashes with the big ones (Channel, Philippines, Thailand etc). I have Intel Core2 Duo 2GhzCPU and 3 Gb of RAM on a winXP 32 system.

I run it on a XP professional OS with 2GB ram, and it has given me an extra bit of FPS when it counts. I am very happy!

Works great for me, seems to give a noticeable boost in performance!

Just flew over the huge B-29 Alley map in a... well B-29 at 7000m over Kyushu and had an average of 200+ fps!

Strangely the TrackIR one works for me

Maybe that was the problem the first time round. Looks good so far.
