New Air Force Marking
« on: February 20, 2012, 04:53:26 PM »

From an idea by RealDarko - soon here a new set of skins featuring a new (fictitious) air force marking, from a historical (pre-WWII) conflict. Couldn't help showing a preview ... if anyone wishes to hazard a guess, please feel free to go ahead ...

The Arab - Palestine Uprising against the Ottoman Empire in WWI? Hence , the combined Crescent and Star of David superimposed on the white diamond in the red block , which is very clever modification of the WWI Ottoman insignia.

It is indeed a marking having to do with a conflict that occurred in the Islamic world, but it's not that which you mention. The marking is based on the flag used during the insurgency-war, or rather probably on one of the many flags used, as it was a tribal based war.

In history, this side did not have any aircraft in use, but we're postulating that several of their European enemy's planes were captured and put to use ... a long shot of a supposition to be sure since as far as I know during the Great War only Europeans were trained as pilots and hence there would have been few insurgents capable of using any captured aircraft ... but whatever ...
