Mission bug---thats strange. Will say that I'm still on 1.7---not modded up to 1.71 yet. Also haven't installed the texture pack yet.

Will look into this more closely and get back to you. Remember I had a vehicle (truck) driving near takeoff point to add immersion. Let you know soon.

EDIT>>>
Yes I have repeated results. Only 4 Do-17s in player group show. As soon as I hit throttle to take-off other planes appear and all planes explode. ISN'T there a way to clip on mission attacnments to post so I can send you the mission?

Glad you sorted things out badderger, there are a few problems with the map but nothing that would have caused exploding aircraft, at least I hope not. ;)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Glad to see got the problems sorted out badderger, I was starting to wonder if objects had been placed over the spawnpoints.

Hello Redwulf__32, no objects on spawn points thankfully, unfortunately a check of the circuit behaviour has shown that objects are actually stopping aircraft taxying to their stays.  A major problem with any mission or campaign if the builders haven't checked a flight of landing aircraft before placing their objects. Unfortunately they can't see those taxi and stay points unless they have a map building version of the sim.  Aircraft dissapearing as they land is usually a sure sign of objects blocking things.  For on line guys maybe not a problem as they will all taxi their own birds in the flight, but for us off line types the player becomes the only parked aircraft. :'(

I really should have done a thorough test before uploading, sorry guys.

I've been checking through each airfield, unfortunately to put things right I will need to at least move some objects slightly, at worst completely remove some.  Trees especially are blocking things in a lot of areas, as are blast pens. In some places to keep detail I will need to add extra taxi and stays where some are covered.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Morning! Re-did the mission loading just the planes and was just fine. This mission was kinda BIG and over-loaded for my computer. But started subtracting stuff around the spawn point and no luck. So I started subtracting stuff around attack zone and still no luck. Still left alot of enemy stuff and mission still a bit beefy. One thing---I did keep moving around waypoints and spawn-points cuz l wanted 2 get this mission just right. Substituted aircraft still no luck so cant blame it on the D0-17.

Summarty---mission 2 big n too much "meddling"---i.e.---changing things around---Have a great day!!! :)

Hello all, I think I've now finally got all the taxi and stay points active again now, phew. :)

Here is the taxi system at Grove as seen in the map builder, quite a large airfield.

It was necessary to remove the blast pens completely as they stopped aircraft taxying and parking, the Red
semi circle showing where they were previously. although three just won't except aircraft anyway even now. ???

And here you see the previous position of the hangers in red and where they were moved so
as to re-open the taxi and parking slots.

At Tirstrup there were two major problems, the first shown by the Green arrow is where the original parking slots were.
This detail stopped aircraft taxying and parking.

Rather than remove the detail I've added a few new taxi and stay points, shown in Yellow.

The other problem was a large hanger in another part of the airfield.  The yellow box indicates roughly
where it was originally and the taxi points it covered.  The Blue arrow shows where it was moved back and
a few extra runway tiles added.
Some of the small houses were also shifted slightly, maybe I should have removed them. :-\

With the other airfields it was merely necessary to remove tree objects that were blocking the taxi and stay points,
although in one instance some of the humans and their objects were also removed.

These changes won't stop this happening again when a mission is built, but at least we will know that if the map
is used with these changes and no further additions nearly all your flights should land and become eye candy and
targets on the airfield.

Note: At Tirstrup there is only one set of taxi and stay points for the main concrete runway, so only one approach.
If you use the other, aircraft will land and dissapear as you would expect, nothing to do with objects in that instance.
Not sure if this was deliberately done by Redwulf__32, or is still to be dealt with.  Maybe that runway was only ever
used in one direction due to the prevailing wind pattern of the area.

I now need to send the altered files to Redwulf__32 and Jirpilot1 for their approval, if they are ok with the changes I
will put up a new link, the load has also been altered following advice from Redwulf__32.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

S! Pete,

Since Jirpilot1 and Maro_PS did not have the map builder, they couldn't know where the TAXI and STAY points were located, hence the "confusion".
See PM I sent you concerning the grass strips at Vejle, Hadersleben and Odense. Besides that, no objections on my part  8)

As inspriration, have a look at a 1945 map of Grove  ;) http://www.gyges.dk/fliegerhorst_grove%20intro.htm

Hello all, there is now a new link for this map in the first post.

All previous errors outlined in the thread regarding taxi and stay points have now been rectified.

In addition Redwulf__32 pointed out that the airfields at Vejle, Hadersleben and Odense needed
further work as objects had been placed too near to the  concrete runway.

These airfields were built using Luftwaffe practice at the time which meant that a large grass area
either side of the concrete strip was also used by aircraft for take off and landing.

The objects have now been moved further to the side leaving the grass field accessable, the buildings
now stand on the edge of the blank plates put down by Redwulf__32 to aid aircraft operation.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
