I was getting load errors with 1.1 using the QMB mission provided and the ZAF mod, 1.2 missions work perfectly. Very cool map thanks :D

Glad you like it - that was a fix I had to make for the two versions of the map  - be all things to all people!  :D ;)

viking4570, you and all mission builders have my respect.

I just spent well over an hour looking for that RedScramble mission problem.

WTF is ETOFlags?

Whatever it is, it was causing the :null message.

Also, in the PMs I said we need the Objects map from AAA but we do not, all we need is the ETOFlags folder from the Buildings folder.

I made a 3do folder, put the ETOFlags in the 3do folder and put the 3do folder into the STD folder.
Launched the RedScramble from QMBPro and it worked.

Oh, yeah, SAS mod activator, Blank plate map.

Anyhow, thanks for the map and the missions, it really bites to get great maps with no missions for those of us with no FMB skils.

Wow, Thanks Forager! check your PM's - I think the problem might be that at the El Alamein train station there is an ETO flag object placed (a Union Jack), native to the map, that is to say, included in the actors.static.  I'm not sure, but it may be if the mission takes place within a range of where that flag would appear then the mission won't load.  I am going to check it out tonight when I'm home, deleting the flag altogether, and see if that removes the problem.   If so, I'll provide a patch that eliminates it and hopefully that will be the last of the compatibility problems.  My goal is to have the map compatible with a 4.09b install, with just LAL Rone hangar and fortifications mods, and dlv Egypt objects as the only necessary mods for the "blank plate" version of the map.

El_Alamein Compatibility Patch

Compatibility Patch
This small patch removes the two union jack flags on the map - with this patch the map will load and save with a base install of 4.09 plus LAL Rone fortification and Hangar mods plus dlv Egypt objects mod. Tested on a base SAS install with just those three mods added.  Extract to your root directory and overwrite when asked.

Version 1.3 FINAL is uploaded - see lead post change log for details and link - these changes won't affect any missions built on previous versions. cheers - viking

hi i have donwloaded your map but in my case i could not load it it say that there is an error in the load ini file the noraml and the zuti mod one ima doing a manual install do i need any extra textures for it to run?

What version of the game are you installing the map into?  Hit shift-tab and let me know the error message you receive, all the way at the bottom. -viking

I noticed that in UP2.0, camouflage for this map is set to SUMMER.  I downloaded v1.3 here and checked the .ini files and seems you intended it to be set to DESERT.  The only way I found around this was to copy the "load_blank_plate.ini" file to \MODS\MAPMODS\maps\vkg_El_Alamein.  Now I have desert camouflage.  Do you know if this workaround will cause other problems?
