OK ... this should be an easier fix:

https://www.mediafire.com/?0fbt4vqv1glcl9s

Download, unzip and then place it in your #DBW folder ... it should not overwrite any files, only existing folder structures.

You can also unzip and then go down to the deepest folder called 'Trees' and then copy the 3 files

AutumnBush_LATL.tga
AutumnBush_LATrunkTL.tga
AutumnBush_LA.tga

into the following directory:

.../#DBW/MapMods/Maps/_Tex/Trees
or
.../#SAS/MapMods/Maps/_Tex/Trees

And keep the original load_Aut.ini for the autumn map.

I fly a 4.101m SASmodact 3.0 game.  Loaded all three maps, with your fix.  Was able to save missions on all three! ;D ;D ;D
Thank you, Santa Ag!!!!! 8)

Many thanks for this map. It covers a very useful area for various scenarios.
I'm running HSFX5 with SASModAct - already modded with additional objects.
Loaded up fine with no problems. Nice work.

I agree with Ashe - good map for some interesting scenarios.
But something is wrong, all maps summer/autumn/winter have too much dark all ground textures.
Objects have normal light. It´s error only on my side?
I have tested under HSFX5.

There is a tendency for objects to be quite bight ... and the textures are not the lightest either. I made the map usually checking things with hazy or poor weather conditions and by never ever flying at 12 noon. If you use early or late hours, the contrast in colors between textures and objects are flattened out.

Maybe give it a try like this ...

agracier, these maps are a brilliant work of art and speak highly of your craft. I deliberately made long flying missions just to admire the beauty of this work.
To magot---I understand what you are saying but I look at this part of the world where I believe at least a portion of this map is in the arctic circle. It's a whole different world and atmosphere up there and I believe the colors and textures as represented are accurate. Certainly, the enviornment is surrealistic in reality and will afford breathtaking screenshots.
The only issue I see is at about 3000 meters the near coastlines appear squared off and serrated. However, to what extent this is to my old-ass computer I am not sure.
Thanks agracier, I will definitely be using this map in Lapland war German retreat and some really scenic dogfights with Russian bomber escorts. Also endless possibilities with naval missions. And after September 1944 the Finns are now at war with the Germans with a Russian gun to their head due to the Treaty of Moscow. A thick plot.

Yes, about that you are right ... we downloaded the satellite data to make the map, not from the usual MicroDem site, but from another site that specializes in high latitude map data. If you need anything from the arctic regions, Microdem just doesn't have it available.

However, there is an issue with the other site's mapdata showing very geometric shaped, block shaped coastlines. Most of the coastlines were like a succession of square/rectangular building blocks of various sizes, neatly piled up to one another. We had to adjust the coastline data by hand, coloring in by hand an approximation of irregularity. It worked fairly well, at least when flying at lower altitudes. But with all the coastline there is ... well, it was quite a length all in all. I hardly ever fly above 1500m and suppose i just didn't really notice the blockiness at that altitude.

We did the same serious kind of manual altering for the winter map_C, to create an impression of having ice around the coasts and ice floes here and there ... the winter map also has the ice pack way up north ... but it's not marked on the map. The only little blemish is that pop-up trees will appear here and there on ice ...

So it's not your computer, but an inherent flaw in the map data ...
