Happy that everything works it is odd that you face this problem in 4.12 maybe you have a mod version of the aircraftLH.class if you are interested you can do a search for this file (same hash than the fix file)

And yes Frankiek, I did a quick search and I found that I have that file in my BAT installation, but I don't know where it came from... now I don't know if it should be removed or it should remain at its post...

AircraftLH is a common class used by many planes and in that location seems to be part of the original BAT install. In any case keep an eye on the "fix" it shouldn't create any problem as the only difference should be the reference to the compass but you never know

I dont fully understand why you need the 4.10 version if you have vpmodpack that runs on 4.12. in any case the download is on the first post click on mediafire mirror

Code: [Select]
CockpitTA_152E (Ta-152E-1)
3DO/Cockpit/Ta-152E-1/hier.him

I'm curious about this. Where can we get that High Alt Aufklärer?

Strange...I've had good success with extracting SFS archives from UP 3.4 and repacking them to cleanup my installation, similar to what I'd done with my BAT 4.2.3 archives as described here:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,63325.12.html

But after having extracted Claymore's SFS archives with SFSExtract and copying over Mike's fixes to the 3DO folder and then repacking the files with SFSManager I can't load any of the aircraft.  The log file claims that the hier.him files can't be opened.  But I've verified that they are present.

I've renamed Claymore's FW-190 package to move them to the top of the SFS-UP folder (e.g. Claymore_190s_01.sfs) to ensure their contents are overwritten by Mike's updates, since I noted there were hier.him files included in these, as well as quite a few others.

When you did the extraction, were you 100% successful?
Personally, I've never had 100%!  :-X

Right.

SFSExtractV31 only detects 68% and 65% of Claymore's FW-190 package sfs-files.

I think the dump mode included in the latest Il-2 Selector versions, makes things much easier.

Example, Fw-190A-4(Beta) extracted from Ultrapack.

Un saludo.

dump also has some shortcomings as the damaged layers are often not dumped I think a combination of the two methods will give the best results

Thanks for the helpful inputs everyone!  I'll put this effort to rest and just leave everything alone for now.  I didn't see as much potential in saving a lot of space with UltraPack anyway, since I'd noted at most 500 MB worth of duplicate files and folders after having extracted all the archives, only a small fraction of the total in comparison to BAT.  Also, with my BAT installation the SFS archives were all extractable via SFSManager, which I suppose is more reliable than the earlier SFSExtract that I needed to extract the older SFS files dating back to around 2011 or so.

Cheers

SFSManager vs SFSExtract

Above all, the two are totally different, since the files in one are encrypted differently from those in the other...  ;)
