TICI - The continuous building fires you want are contained in the plutonium mod posted by Sanka at the beginning of this topic.

I don't know where I got my ship fires but you can get the ones in the above pic here.

Also the alternative fires that Santobr posted earlier are in there, and they don't time out either.  It's for DBW, but should be easy enough to get it to work in UP3 or whatever.
 
It's a compilation of my personal favourite mods  :)

yeah, i know that the power is supposed to be abouce 85%, but fou me, theres really only three sprrds i use; no power, full power, and full power wep. lol. what should i do, download it again and replace all files or mess with the conf.ini?

Thank you Gurner for your reply. I tried to install the package you descibed to see what is all about in my HSFX 5.01 install but the game doesn't start. So , it is possible to install ONLY the ship fire effects on my Plutonium and which file are they?.

to CWMV, i have up3 fully patched to rc4

somethin that i just thought of, does this work with all aircraft or just a few?

That's weird - I have the bay door problem in UP but there is no problem for me in DBW!  Not the end of the world for me though as I only use DBW at the moment

Tarcisio - I'll try to make an HSFX 5 version for you in the near future but as I don't have Have HSFX5 installed I won't be able to test it...

Yes these are the effects I am missing in 4.1. Downloaded your files and testing now.

Tested in DBW but the carrier did not burn. The other effects are great but the Flak eats too much fps. I weonder if i am missing anything else because in no version of 4.1 I get smoking or burning damaged ships.

I think - I think - I've gotten this straightened out now. I realized I needed to install the effects designed for use with the AI MOD. Since doing so, the bomb bay doors function properly in DBW.

El_Marta - I haven't tried with a carrier but to get the pic I posted I just created a naval battle with four ships on each side and they set each other on fire.  That happens when I have no mods activated apart from my compilation and the ai mod, so I doubt you're mising something.  Unless it's something to do with the aircraft weapons.  Maybe the bombs/rockets are not poweful enough to set the ships on fire?

Does this mean that the bomb bay door problem exists for everybody when using plutonium mod in up3 and DBW but not DBW with AI mod?

El_Marta - just tested it again with a carrier - if I put the carrier in my sea battle i see this:


If I drop 250kg bombs on it from an f6 I see this:


After a few minutes the fires burn themselves out and the ship smokes like this:


However, I bombed it once with a b-25 using 500kg bombs and it sank very easily with no fire and just a small column of smoke, and I see no fires if I play the Kamikaze default track

EDIT - Just ran my sea battle again using only the plutonium mod for DBW with the ai mod posted by Sanka at the beginning of this topic and I see exactly the same fires.  So you DO NOT need my compilation to see these fires.  Although there is lots of other nice visual stuff in there    :D

I think Santobr mentioned something about making the guns easier to destroy so that fires would start more easily on ships?
