Regardless I was unable to reproduce your crackling. I'm not sure what's causing it but its nothing I can think of in this pack.
I'm actually one of those that has been anxiously awaiting a p-38 sound mod from jaffa. Till then were stuck with stock.

Thanks for looking into this! I did find a fix. I activated Jiver's Total Sound Mod in JSGME and the crackling stopped.

I'm starting to get away from the ol 109 and experimenting with new AC, particularly Soviet.
Thing is all their sounds suck!
If anyone has samples or mods for Soviet aircraft sounds please send me a link. I'm tinkering around with I16's (using Jafa's 190 sounds as a base) and its going well, but slowly...

It's more than just the P-38.  I tend to hear it with Stukas, occasionally an HE-111, and a couple other planes that I can't think of right now.

I'm not entirely sure what's causing it, but I figured I'd post and see if you guys could find something.

Hey yoshi!
Well to be truthful I can't say. I'm using DBW and I get no crackling. But I also have livers sound mod activated as the base sound pack rather than stock sounds.

As much as it sounds like a cop out I can't fix a problem I don't have.
Do Yall have any other sound mods activated?

Yosh your still talking about RC4  right?

It might be an RC4 problem or incompatibility.  I got it once when flying on Spits vs 109s (can't remember which plane), but the extra sounds from this spreads it around to a few extra planes.  It sounds like the sounds are just clipping because they're too loud or something.

I could try activating that other sound mod first and see if the problem persists (checking the Stuka first, since that's the most prominent one).  Might help narrow down exactly what's causing the issue.
