Out of the country for a month so have missed this news,& have one question is this beta installed thru Steam or is ait a manual instal only? I have checked my Steam & there appears to be updating activity while I have been absent , but no 109E-4 appears in game yet. :-\

Yep I sorta figured..I do like the changes even tho my FPS may have dropped a frame or two.Thanks for your help. ;)

lol, so i reinstalled my previously unplayable version, patched it up, and lo and behold, the game actually runs at much improved framerates - read 9-15 as opposed to 1-2.  :D
which is great. however, along with the improved framerate, the game now no longer responds to any joystick input.
using an X52, it responds to throttle controls, but nada on the actual stick axes or anything.
going through the controls, it seems all is ok and correctly assigned, but ingame it's as dead as a dodo.  :P

the new Nvidia beta drivers have made a huge difference for some.
Personally Im getting about 10 FPS more than before. My averages never drop below 48 now.
I fly with a guy who has a 9800gt, and hes getting 30-40 fps average with the beta patch and new drivers.

I have, but upgrading to something 64 bit like Windows seven with a direct x11 compatible card is the way to go if you want any good experience out of CoD. (As advertised)  :)

Seriously, I don't know how anyone, including the developer, would consider an obsolete OS for this.
Time to move on folks  :D
Id love to see them drop XP support since they have indicated it causes several issues.
