Man I am dumb.

First of all after unziping the download we get a file called:   19EF8DC806613AE4.  Is that right?  Its in a directory called FOVMod_v1.

Then in my Il2 directory I have no direcrtory called "mod, mods"  It is patched up to UP3RC4.  So what am I doing wrong, what can't I see.

The only UP directory I have is an UP_3.0-RC and all it contains is a bunch of RAR files and a couple of EXE files.

Sorry for being soooo stupid.

You're missing the "#UP#" sample folder from the basic UP3 RC installation. Just get it there and put it in place, that's your mods folder.

I have got your execellent FoV mod working on my triple monitor setup.
I only use the toggle button for changing FoV, So that gives me zoomed in, default FoV and Wide Fov.
Due to the width of my setup I need to use 125 degrees of FoV in the "wide mode"
I have no problems to alt tab and write fov 125 when I start up. But if I ever want to zoom in , I need to redo this.

Is it possible to set my 3 FoVs "locked" so that when i zoom in at lets say 30 degreees  and then zoom out to wide, I get back to 125 degrees again?
More or less as the default game works, just with other FoVs instead.

I tried carmasters mod, and all I could do is to set keys to change the FoV "on the fly", but that is not really what I want.

Can I just create a folder called #UP# and put the FOV Mod into it?  If I can do this, do I put the directoy in the root IL2 directory or does it go into a sub-directory?

To use this mod do I need to modify the IL2 ini file?  Doesn't look like I have to but thought I would ask while I am at it.
Thanks

I just checked but unfortunately this would require to modify the AircraftHotkeys class instead of this small and non-intrusive mod.
In the current state with just touching the CmdFov class this isn't possible without generating confusing side effects.

No. Do not create the #UP# folder. It can be unzipped from "#UP#_sample_folder" included in the UP3 download. Any mods go straight to the #UP# directory.

Mike

Is there any chance of combining this fov mod with Twisters over the shoulder pov mod, here

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,16818.0.html

with the latest DBW updates, Twisters mod has the effect of disabling some control options, so can not use it any more, but would like to have the over the shoulder components incorporated into your mod if possible please.

regards

Hi Storebr! Tested your mod these last days in combination with the one from Cirx I was using before: wow!
I have widescreen and trackir and really more than happy the way it works: in claustrophobic pits like the 109 one the result is astonishing.
Thks a lot!
Best regards,

Tried this FOV mod and works great compared to the buggy/annoying Sans FOV(no offense SANS).
Thanks alot!
Only thing though that I did like in Sans is that I was able to change FOV by keeping the assigned button pressed, as opposed to having to press the button repeatedly. (When I want to zoom alot it requires lots of presses :( )
Is there any way to change that?

Could it be possible to assign a joystick axis to make the zoom function?

That would be awesome
