when I use my trackIR to move in and out (z-axis), a whole bunch of FOV/zoom magnification messages appear
Thanks again for your heads up lam.
Please find a new v1.1 of this mod in first post of this thread.
The new version doesn't log FOV changes smaller than 5° at all (which should basically turn logging off most time for TrackIR users) and additionally doesn't write a new log line for each FOV change, but instead updates an existing FOV log line if it was the last thing to be logged (quite similar to Throttle or Radiator logging).

Best regards - Mike

It works great! tested in both UP3 and DBW!
That was a quick response and elegant solution - thanks much Mike!! ;D

Aviar, you might have some other mod installed which contains the same classfile.
Shift this one in front of load order by renaming the folder "FOVMod" to "000000_FOVMod" and check whether your FOVMod folder contains a file called "19EF8DC806613AE4" please.
Ah... and last but not least: In the Selector (the application which loads UP3) disable the Mods file cache at least once after you have installed this mod.
This step is required each time when you change something inside the "MODS", "FILES", "#SAS", "#UP#" or "#DBW" folder when you're using the Mods file cache.

You're a bit lazy, aren't you? :D
See updated first post for screenies.

Best regards - Mike

I downloaded both - I looked in both downloads, the original and the updated and there are not screen captures of what this mod will do in UP3.

Thank you! You did something that was @impossible@ (according to Oleg's team) but really-really needed by all with widescreens!
BIG BIG thanks!

Thanks so much, it's working now. I didn't know the file cache had to be disabled.

Glad you got it sorted.
Please remind yourself of this: When using Mod Files Cache, each time you're touching your mod folders, you have to either disable the cache once, or you have to manually delete the file "~wrapper.cache" in the mods base folder.

Thanks a million for this mod, I can finally stop struggling with San's FOV changer. I do have one input though; would it be possible to assign keys to the extra steps like in the game? The reason I ask is that I (and several others I know) use a slider with banding to control the zoom, and it would be really cool to be able to just add a few more bands and get a nice smooth zoom slider. Even if it was just out to 120 degrees or so it would be SUPER useful.

Thanks again for this mod and all of your contributions, you seem to have a knack for creating simple solutions that have a great effect on the game!!

SAS~Storebror:

I can't remember who put out the previous mod I had - in my Mods folder it was called 'FOV_console_MOD'. This required keyboard input and was clunky in the exreme.

This one however!! Great stuff!

Thanks for your replies mates.
DD_BadAim, I don't fully get yet what you're proposing. You're using what to control the zoom? Maybe I'm just lost in translation, but "slider with banding" just means nothing to me ::)
